What have you done to your P5 today?

Havent done anything to the protege in a while. Still waiting for my calipers to get here so i can finally replace my rear brakes. Been driving the rogue around a lot and realized it needs brakes too...fun fun fun!

An unloaded caliper is only $90 at Advance Auto Parts, why not just get one from an auto parts store. I just did this 2 weeks ago and need my car everyday... I had no choice.

Pulled most of my low pressure a/c line. Had to disassemble my glove box and compressor box to get to, just to realize the replaced line I got has an even bigger hole. I put my car back together and ultimately wasted a few hours. Learned how half that stuff fits together though, nothing is ever completely a waste!

I'm going to check out a local shop that makes custom a/c lines. Hopefully they can help with the section I need replaced.

Also purchased some rear AWR endlinks and bushings from a friend ^.^

dave b hasnt made any new ones in years, you can find them in the FS thread every once in a while for around $80-$100.
the main difference being that the dave b's are sooo perfectly made that they just press on and are very difficult to take off, and any other ones (like in the link you provided) have to be glued on

*just got ninjad*

And what's REALLY fun about the DaveB's is that they sold for $35 new... The only Mazda accessory in the world that gets more money second hand than new.

washed it then bam it rained later on the day(yesterday) and today lol.

have dave and b rings to add on this week. also an egr valve replacement and 1.8 wire set up with the relocation for them.

ordered the caliper but was sent 2 front calipers instead of rears. made out pretty well now because i can keep them and still get the rears later this week for free.

^^^ YES!!!

I rolled my fenders a bit more and raised the rear up a bit. No more rubbing and handles like a boss. Now I ust need to wait for the GT Spec trailing arms so I can get her aligned.

Also ordered some rear brake pads (Hawk HP+ to match the fronts) and StopTech SS brakelines from CR3 Motorsports. :)

received my spacers from Adam (Azuelke) today, all i can say is these are quality pieces and other small business could learn a few things from him. Quick shipping, great packaging and the fit perfect, not to mention fast communication.

Im in a pickle again guys. The p5 I had lined up is in the shop for another repair. Second one in two weeks. Should I still take it for $2000 risking paying more later on (feeling a new engine, electrical seems to be going and if im replacing, KL swap on no info here I come) or use my dads car over the summer, only pay for gas, and save up to get a nicer p5 at the end of summer??? I really dont wanna get another car as the p5 looks nice and is unique in my setting kinda. Sorry if you've already gazed at my post in the pissed off thread, it just pissed me off is all... Sorry again if im in the not so hot place to post this. Starting a new thread just seems dumb though when im in the heart of a thread with guys who know a s*** ton of info on the p5 :)

Can you even get a nice P5 nowadays? It's going on 10 years old. I'm betting most people don't take very good care of their cars. Mine is mint, but I've had it since it had 15K miles on it. I've really kept it up and replaced aging parts on it.

Thats sadly what im saying. The one I was gonna get has 120k give or take. The guys got a family and drove it mostly highway miles. I dont quire know why he's having problems all of a sudden but it sucks. Its all electrical. There's two I found rather close by, ones got 78k and the other 95k. Both look nice. 78k one's been on the lot now for a few weeks... Not an amazing sign. 95k one, well, asking 8k. Kelly Blue Book values at 7, could TRY and talk em down but what'll that do if there's wear and tear? Im mad cause I thought the guy was gonna keep good care of it. Unfortunately this is the "better him than me" situation. I'd like to speak to him personally instead of through my dad. For all I know, my dad could be BSing me cause he doesn't want me to have a car. He's stingy. I'll be using his Altima though so ill be able to save up. Next 8 months he's outta the country and said I can use that. Only paying for gas so that'll help but I feel spoiled, I'd rather have my own car to do what I want with and personalize it my way. Lewis and his KL swap have me hooked on the P5 along with how it looks. And this community is really helpful so I want to try and stay within the Mazda family at least. The millennia looks nice but the Miller engine has issuez and that's a no go in my book. 2.5 is nice but a KL in a p5 would be (by normal standards) hella unique.

Sorry for the wall of text... :D I like to type...

Aww, that made me feel all warm and fuzzy. :)

Have you considered buying a southern car and have it shipped up? Or even flying down to look at it and drive it up? Being up here in the north (I see you're free MI) rusty cars are no fun to work on.

Lol, no ass-kissing intended. Haven't really thought about that. I always thought that to be risky but I won't vote that out in the near future. Im going on a vacation to north Carolina, I'll look at listings around there nearer the time (when school gets out). If I see a good buy there, I could pick it up and drive it back up here. I saw that you bought Shalon's P5? (pardon me for reffing to you by first name, and potentially butchering it), I feel that to be a good idea but what's to stop it rusting up later on? Im looking for a DD so it'll be outside. Im sure a good rust proofer would be worth it? I got a few weeks to go either way, and I gotta think. If I get the car I want and need to fix it up, I could just leave it uninsured in a safe garage and then use my dads working motor. That's what I'd HOPE[I/] to do but chances are I'll have to wait till the end of summer or my 8 months... :(
