Hello Everyone ,
My Drivers Side door Lock actuator was broken for a good month and ive finally replaced it. It was such a hassle trying to get this thing out because it was located at the bottom left hand side of the door. It was held in by 2 tiny Screws and i must have dropped the screws like 5 times but thank God i finally got them in! Pheeww. The old plastic Crank Wheel cracked in half totally that's why i had to replace this one. I posted a picture so you can check it out and see for yourself. Its split right in the middle of the white plastic wheel right by the Spring. They should really make these metal gears in stead of plastic then they wouldnt brake! (enguard)

Exact same problem with mine... when i had the new part i decided to see if i could fix the old one by superglueing a small drill bit that went threw both pieces.... it worked! .... for 3 times....

putting it in was a total pain! did you get attacked.by.the black goop?

Hey man that's a good idea with the Drill bit to bad it didnt hold and yes the Black Goop dip attack me a few times lol Im glad that i was able to help

I'm trying to understand where these break. I see the big gear itself, then a very narrow white section off its center, then a wider cylinder type part that's inside the spring, which seems to have a break in it(?)

If you click on my link 3 posts Directly above you ive posted 2 different Pictures of it. The Main White Gear Wheel Breaks right in the Middle because it spins so many times and because its Plastic. click on my Link up there and Check it out

i saw that gear on ebay too but wimped out at the last second. i ended up buying the entire thing.... anyone need the motor?

let us know how it turns out

I have to do this fix! My passenger side and rear driver's side doors don't work lol. Is there a how to on this?

it's actually easy. You just have to pop the inside cover of the door off, carefully remove the plastic from the black rubber glue stuff, and swap out the gear. Straight forward stuff. I'll try to document how it goes when i swap mine out for you guys.

Update for you guys. The eBay gear came in. Perfect fit and functions flawlessly. I even used your picture to reassemble the gear, spring, cap, and position in the actuator too. Cheap alternative to replacing the actuator.

So is this an easy fix? I need to do both my rear doors. I have seen those gears on Ebay. I have not ordered them yet, I just want to find out what I am getting into with this repair.
