Here are some photos of my enhancements to my M5 GT. Front door moldings to side mirror convex mirrors. Also, my trusty V1 and my Yaesu FT-857D HF radio. Also, picture of how my ScanGaugeE has been mounted. I used industrial strength Velco(tm) that's used on EZPass tags. It also holds my Android phone quite securely as well.

whoa, that's a loaded cockpit! Looks like you're all set for the Cannonball Run!

How did you run power up to the Valentine? I was thinking about hiding a power line up there for the Bluetooth speaker and maybe the GPS (see other thread on locations I'm toying with). Did you tap into the overhead lights?

I have convex mirrors on all of my cars. It's crazy that in Europe most cars side mirrors have these built in to the outer portion, but apparently this violates some US law against seeing too much of what's behind or next to you.
Side note: my father once had the DMV fail his car for having these. He drove around to the parking lot, popped them off and went through again to get a sticker.

I've used little rectangular convex ones, but yours look interesting. Where'd you get them?

Okay, the power is from the fuse box, I used one of the Bussmann Mini fuse adapter from Amazon. Price actually has gone up since I got it.

I tapped into the Accessories fuse so when I turn the key to accessories position, the V1 comes on. So I never have to forget to turn it off. When I go, the V1 comes on automatically.

As per the mirror, in NJ, I don't think it'd be an issue. But those do come off however, the mirrors pivot and it's removable. I got them from the local Japanese automotive aftermarket store. They sell all kinds of stuff, it's actually located inside the Japanese supermarket, I am so lucky!

EDIT: On the Beetle, I used the wire tap on one of the +12V wire for the overhead lighting. I only did that because I did not know about the fusebox adapter made by Bussmann. I try not to tap into any factory wire unless I really have to as it damages the insulation and makes the wire weaker than before.

Oh yeah, BTW, I once wired up the speaker from the Garmin StreetPilot 2720 into the A-pillar and ran the wire through the dash and behind it on my Beetle. I would not recommend it though, it's a lot of work.

Ha ha, I forgot to comment about this, yeah Jackie Chan - the Isuzu Impulse, yup I remember that. That was one of my favorite movies of the early 80's. Do you rember that every girl that got into Roger Moore's car tried to press that RED button? Maybe I should put a red button on the car and have people press it and let it make that Whoopie Cushion noise and see their reactions!
