How many tail light styles?

For the American 5's, are there three different styles of tail lights? I know there are at least 2, the ones on my neighbors 06 and on my 09 but I thought I saw ones that look like mine but have a large red reflector where mine are clear. Am I losing it or are those aftermarket?

Sounds like you have an '09 Touring The Touring has LED brake lights. The Sport has regular incandescent lights and a big red patch on the outsides of the light housings and backup/turn lights nearer the tailgate.

European cars from 05-07 have large red patches similar to the 08-10 Sport to meet Euro regs, although they look very similar to the North American lights of 06-07.

I have seen both clear and red taillights that are specific to the 08 and later 5's and the red tails specific to the 06/07 (all models).

Aha that explains it! Also explains why I dont see too many with the red lights. Most people go for touring models here in NYC, only a handful would even consider stick. Unless you want a stick, it does not make sense to get a sport unless the budget is REALLY tight.

Dutch 2005 taillight

This is the taillight from my Dutch 2005 Mazda5:

Plus don't forget the 2006-2007 N.A. had 2 styles of "touring" lights, the difference being the color of the silver "chrome" inside. One was a bright chrome, the other was a charcoal grey color.(crazy)

About all other versions have been/are sold in the Netherlands too, so that wouldn't be a reason not to trade.
But there is another reason: I like them too much on my Phantom Blue 5...

A quick Google showed that http://www.winparts.nl/Onderdelen/Verlichting/Achterlichten/MAZDA/5 (CR19) ^ 2005.03-??? are selling them for 115 euro each. Maybe you can contact them?
