2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Hatch
Well, I've been mulling over trading in the Protege5 for a Subaru, and I've done it. Working on the final details of the deal, but if everything works out, I'll be driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon on Monday. This has been a great community and I'm going to miss it, even though I haven't been on in quite a while, I knew I could come here to find answers to all my questions and concerns. The Protege5 is still running good and strong at 99,000 miles and I have no doubts it's going to last the next owner for a nice long time. Aside from it starting to show signs of its age (typical Mazda rust beginning to form), I have no complaints, I just want something faster. I'll be removing some of my mods, so I may have a handful of items up to sell depending on what I get to doing this weekend. So far this is my short list (I'll post a proper FS thread when the time comes).

K&N SRI with Filter + cleaning kit
DDM 55w 6000k HID kit
15" Winter Wheels with Dunlop Graspic snow tires (195/55/15, I believe)
Solid Motor Mounts (passenger side + rear)
Might have a few other misc items too, not sure what I'm going to really be able to get to, I have a busy schedule and the weather looks like it might be crap...

lol... I'm sure the dealer would love that.

PS, here's a shot of the Subie...

I came from Suby to Mazda. I had a TS, so N/A, not turbo. They are both slow. The P5 has far more inspired handling, the TS was a grip monster. The P5 like precision, the TS needed to be man-handled around corners, but the harder you beat it, the better it responded. The P5 has better brakes, steering, suspension, headlights, and interior (though WRX seats are very nice). The Impreza has, uh, grip, and uh, more grip.

Both are awesome! Congrats!

Well, I picked up the Impreza WRX last night, and my god... What a difference, she has so much get up and go it's not even funny. The weather here was crappy last night, so I didn't get a chance to snap any good pics, but I grabbed a few with the BB. I'm still getting the hang of the MT, but it's coming along nicely. (2thumbs)

You'll enjoy the Subaru forums. I spent seven good years over at nasioc. I still peruse there regularly. Sold my WRX of six years in '08; then got the MS3...sold that last month; and now the P5 :)

She looks nice...how many miles? I'd love to trade up to the beauty of symmetrical all-wheel drive.

58,8xx on the clock. Not terrible for an 05 by any means, especially a Subaru, it was one of the lowest mileage WRX wagons I could find. So far I'm very happy with it.

NASIOC guys helped me recover funds from a guy that scammed me on this forum years ago. He traded his P5 for a WRX and I tracked him down to NASIOC forums, started a thread about it, and within a couple days local Subaru guys were at his house telling him he owed me and another Subaru owner some money. 48 hours later we both got our money back :)

Definitely a great forum, and good move on the trade. I loved my P5, but the Subaru is a more complete package.

Moar pics! (when you get the time!)
Definately. I'd be happy to snap some today once I get home, it's beautiful out.

That's awesome. Those guys know their stuff, I was talking to one of the shop guys at the Subaru dealership I bought the WRX from and he said NASIOC is the go-to place for Impreza owners...

yeah i went from subaru to mazda but not by choice, i was rear ended in my subaru at a stoplight and was totalled. i absolutely love my subaru. had pretty much every bolt on you can think of, upgraded turbo and intercooler, bigger injectors, perrin fuel rail, running standalone, etc. I loved the handling of my car but i had full suspension. the guy that posted earlier in the thread is right tho, it has grip and more grip but with some full suspension it gets more. lol. but have fun with the subaru man, ive been tryin to decide if i want to go back

It's a completely different beast... So far I'm loving it. Wouldn't go any other way than with the wagon, I love 'em... Next car will also be a wagon, and the car after that... Just the kind of guy I am I guess...
