turbo blowing oil again

:
2003.5 yellow msp
stock turbo started blowing oil so i bought another one off this forum but this turbo is bad also, right wheni installed started blwoing oil up the hot pipe.

i have no money to buy a new turbo, i was thinking about installing a catch can in the mean time until i can buy a new turbo,

i know this is a ghetto fix but will it work or help for now?

start with a oil restrictor,

if it's blowing oil the last thing you want to do is ignore the problem, especially with the oil starvation issues that the FS already has.

and correct me if im wrong but you cant put a catch can on the hot pipe... and putting it anywhere else isnt going to solve the issue.

Stock Gt25 has a built in restrictor. so another restrictor may infact starve the turbo.

^correct. if youre blowing oil into the hot pipe it more than likely means the seals are shot. buy a rebuildable one this time, or ship one of your two off to MPNick if you can find him... he has (well had) a magical GT25 rebuildable process that no one knows...

idk if rebuilding it is a good option because the price comes out to like 800 or something like that. imo it'd be better to save and just get a new 28 or somehting

MPNick can rebuild them without a CHRA. so its like 600 and you get a bored out compressor housing that flows almost as well as a disco potato.

everyone but MPNick does, and theres one untested company that does it as well. ill see if i can find their site again, i just had it open but closed the window.

lol but they charge as much as another company that changes out the chra so why wouldnt you just swap the thing out?? (besides the better flow thing)

I was able to make one out of two, one had blown seals, one had bent blades on the exhaust side. I had some tools machined in order to press the bearing off the turbine shaft, but then you have to rebuild the bearing cartridge which is pretty much a pain in the ass. It worked great though. lol... I was pretty paranoid when I installed it.

That being said. Look into a non ball bearing t-25 or t-28 off of a nissan or something of that nature. All you have to do is reclock it and your good. They are easily rebuildable if you have any issues, and are relatively inexpensive on a nissan forum as well.

I attached a pick of what my rebuild looked like. Yes I was working on an old t-shirt on my floor.

...because of the better flow thing.
youre getting what is essentially a 28RS for a good deal less and youre fitting it into a housing that doesnt have any special requirements or modifications.

So you're saying that my polished GT25 with increased impeller size moves almost as much CFM as a GT28? Because my turbo is blowing gobs of oil up the hot pipe, even though it boosts fine I really want to get it fixed, but I was debating going GT25 or GT28.
