98 CEL light on - how hard to fix?

Hopefully this is the right forum for this:

I am trying to find a replacement car for my GF's son who rolled his 98 Protege yesterday.

We found another 98 for sale with only 72k miles on it, but it is showing two codes:

P0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Flow Malfunction
P1195 1/1 02 Sens Slow During Catalyst Monitor

Are these normally fixed by replacing the EGR and 02 sensors? Also, what is the average price for this car? I've checked kbb and edmunds.

Here's a pic of the totaled car. It survived a rollover pretty well.

sometimes you can get rid of an egr flow malfunction by taking the valve off and cleaning it also make sure that the egr passages are not blocked as well

and if you have a slow 02 sensor it most likely needs to be replaced

Clean the EGR. There's a how-to on this forum. It should fix it right up for you.

The sensor is most likely bad. Go to Autozone, get a universal and splice it in, half the price.

I think around 3.5k should be the max for a 98.
