Thinking about buying some Mazda6 wheels for my P5

I've been searching for a deal on a set of wheels and tires and I've found a set of 17" Mazda6 wheels with tires (215/50/17). I'm waiting to hear back from the seller, but before I go ahead and pull the trigger, I want to know if those tires will fit or not. My 03 P5 is sitting at stock height. If they don't fit, I'll probably just pass on the deal because with fall and winter creeping up I REALLY need new tires and am on a budget... This fits nicely within what I can afford at the time and my stock wheels are in SAD shape.

So, the 215/50/17 is too wide/tall to fit with that rim? I'm seeing that the stock 17" Mazda6 rim will fit, but maybe the tire size needs to be 205/45/17 or 205/40/17?

uhm.....isn't 808mp5 rolling on mazdaspeed6 wheels?

Yes he is and the 17" Mazda6 wheels will fit the P5. It is close though as they have a +60 offset. That said the set you are looking at will not fit with that tire size. IIRC you'd want a 205/40...possibly a 45?

I think that it might still be an option, depending on the condtion of the rims, because there are WAY more tire choices at the 205/40/17 size than 195/50/16.

You can keep the stockers or look into other 16" wheels. You also have the options of 205/50/16, 205/45/16 and I know a few have run 215/40/16's. Much more choices and at cheaper prices than the select few in the 195/50 size.

im pretty sure its the tires that wont fit. The wheel should fit fine. You should be able to run up to a 215/45 on stock suspension if the offset is anything like im thinking. For reference im running 215/45 on stock suspension on m3 wheels that are 17x6.5 50et

If you are stock you will be fine....If you decide to go lower you may just have to change your tires.... Im running 245/45/18 right now and im low as I can go on my Teins.

BTW no rubbing...and my fenders are not rolled....

I'm not sure about the 215/45/17's fitting....keep in mind that the 6 wheels are IIRC 7" wide and the offset is +60 pushing them further under the fender.

245/45? Is this correct?

Hmm... I also came across the 18's. Ad says they're sitting on 215/45/18 tires. The ad also says they're from a 6. I thought these were Speed3 wheels. Or do both the Speed3 and Speed6 have the same wheels?

That was my concern with the 6's wheels... The offset of +60.

i was about to say, HOLY MOTHER of 245!!! lol

My 215's on MSP RH's rub the inner fender up front lol

They are different and those pictured are the Speed6 wheels....I don't remember what offset they are though.

If you haven't already try a search. I know there was a member in FL that was running these and I can't remember his s/n...IIRC he ended up using spacers but I don't remember the size.

215....lol sorry! Speed3 and 6 wheels are different.

For a second there I thought you had been holding out on all of us. lol

So, 808P5, you have the Speed6 rims with 225/45/18s (or was it 215/45/18)? Are you running any spacers? I have a lead on a set of Speed6 18's with 215/45/18s on them for a hell of a steal. I'm about to pull the trigger and go look at them tomorrow, but want to make sure they would fit ok.

Nice... No rubbing? Your car looks like it's lowered a bit too, so stock I could run those bad boys without worrying then. I'm going to call the guy this afternoon to see what's up with the wheels.

As much as I love them, it turns out that I am not going to get the Speed6 wheels... I decided that I'd rather stick to a 16" wheel. I'm looking at a set of 5zigen FN01R-C's with brand new Toyo Proxes FZ-4's. The guy is asking $450, looks to be a good deal. Guess I have to see if they fit and how they look.
