Thanks Baron!

My pleasure. See other pic.

Instructions that come with the shifter are very good and easy to follow. Getting the shifter assy down in position is tight, but worth the effort. Will take you more time to have the car safely off the ground than to install the whole thing.

Have fun.

You're not a pain, I also needed help. You need quality jacks so you can safely go underneath the car. Most of the work is done from inside the car, and the instructions are EXCELLENT. It took me 3 hours from setup to cleanup, and I'm not a mechanic. The tool that is important is a pair of snap ring pliers, the rest is regular stuff. Like I said, getting the shifter assembly to go down in position has been a pain to me and also others, but that is the only difficulty I encountered. Go see this thread, Sir Nuke has written some instructions of is own. http://forum.protegemp3.com/vbb225/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4182

If you have a fax, send me an email and I'll try to send pages of the install instructions from B&M this weekend.

p.s. ounce installed, it doesn't show, so your wife won't notice

;)

Cool thanks man, was it worth the money??

:D :D :D :D :D Oh Yes!

I'm a fan of racing, I tried a Formula 2000 (winged car, single seater) a year ago and what struck me was the shifter, how precise and the amount of feedback it gave. Of course it's not the same, but still close enough that I sincerely can't wait to drive my P5 on twisty "lotsashifts" country roads when I drive to and from work...;)

WTF??? who are you calling idiot salesman?

Holy, Diane jumping to my defense......Im honored.

Nuke right I think he was just joking

THANKS THOUGH!

I ended up driving to British Columbia for the weekend so I decided to hold off until this week. Might do it tonight or Thursday night, I have it stashed under the bed so my wife doesn't find it (HAHAHA)

I'm LMAO...I ordered a Kartboy shifter the other day, having it mailed to my office for the same reason yours is under the bed! My wife just wouldn't get it.

On the bright side if we get caught we have the "Aaaw, honey I'm not spending it on another woman!" defense

My wife didn't bat an eyelash, since the P5 is technically "her car" - I drive the Miata (when it's not raining) and the P5 whenever we go anywhere together. Besides, with the seat as far forward as she likes it, second gear was a reach into the back seat, so she likes the B&M as much as I do :D

Don

Brain, TexP5 and Don, after reading your posts, I think I'm the luckiest guy around : my better half actually encourages me to modify my car so I can be happy with it:cool:

And, just to make a note, it will be my seventh wedding anniversary this week-end. I am the luckiest:)
