Here's my new MGM MS3 with the blacked-out emblems that I finished yesterday:

I first, Rolled a blunt, got out the heat gun, (and some fishing line), removed the badges by obvious methods, sanded the badges using wet sand paper, primer, -flat blk,- mat clear coat, (still smoking, or re-sparking at this point) re installed, and VWALA! donski! I used roof shingle tar to re apply the Mazdaspeed badge in the left corner, and i left out the "6" but it was super easy!

hope your kidding about the tar, that will leach into the paint and stain it a brown color

The black blends really nicely with the CB paint - looks great! (cool)

Actually it's Metropolitan Gray, it just looks lighter in the bright sunshine and clear blue skies.

(It reflects the blue sky very well)

Abovie3:
how did u tint your reflectors?
are they aftermarket or did u use film or night shade?

night shade. used it for the fog lights and side markers also.

to paint the badges i sanded them down, make sure to get the chrome finish completely off. then wet sanded them to smooth them out nice. couple coats of duplicolor semi gloss back engine enamel and quick layer of clear coat. 7,000 miles and still no chips.

I also have the same badges on the wheel centercaps and I am still waiting on my front emblem.(nana)
