DashHawk Mounting

So I picked up a DashHawk recently, and was trying to figure out a way to mount it. Is there any way to run the OBDII wire up to where the navi would be? And I don't mean from the port, and up the center of the console where the cord would be dangling (I hate when things look out of place), but up behind the center console and into the spot where the navi would be?

Yes, I have mine mounted in that location. You have to remove the center console, then you can undo two screws (I think it was) and remove the map compartment. There is plenty of room to run the cable up between the vents without it being crimped, I recommend that you use some zip ties to attach it along the run so it doesn't move around. You will have to drill a hole in the bottom of the map compartment, I didn't cut the felt liner so if I take the DH out it looks normal. I used the aluminum bracket supplied with the DH to mount it using some Velcro on the bottom (the hook side). One note, if you do this it is best to bend the bracket before attaching it to the DH, you might need to bend it to put the unit in your line of sight. I didn't before attachment and it was much harder. If you place the DH towards the back and angle it towards you, it is very easy to see and you can still close the lid.

Awesome, thanks chiefmg, actually heading out to install my AWR Rear mount right now, I think I'll work on the DashHawk mount afterwards.

I currently have mine mounted on the steering column, and have the cable tied up behind the dash and it looks good. As soon as I get the car back I'll be installing the Blendmount on mine.

Just for future reference too, the DashHawk is the monitoring system accompanying the EDGE system used in Ford Super Duty Diesels and I know that they have several different mounting set ups for them. (I believe they actually make a pod for them) Just a suggestion...

Yes, they make some mounts that are interchangeable between the Edge product and the MSD one.

My DH finally showed up today!
After playing around with different options I chose to mount it on top of the driver's side vent.

I ended up making a mount out of some scrap sheet metal and spray painting it black. This was the only way I was able to point the screen wherever I wanted. It doesn't look very good with that crappy white foam tape (all I had ATM), but I'll remount it later with some heavy duty black tape.

Screen visibility in that location is really good while driving, for me anyway.
