Looking for pics of Dropped MS6's & what springs were used. Im looking into MS6 Eibach Springs drop is 1.5" F- 2 R they're $150. any thoughts?

H&R is what seems to be the ones that most people go with. 1.3" drop all the way around, and I believe they're a linear rate spring (Eibach's are progressive).

EDIT: please only post in one section.

You can easily do a google/wikipedia search for what those terms mean. They are not Ms6 specific. Short definition is - linear spring rate will provide the same amount of resistance regardless of the forces acting on the suspension. A progressive spring will react "progressively" as the force on the suspension increases. It starts out soft for comfort, and as the force increases it stiffens up. Most ppl say the Eibach pro-kit is too soft for the Ms6, and that its not very predictable due to the changing rate. I used Eibachs on my Rx-7, and they were ok. I didnt have complaints for a street car.

Yes, 150 is a decent price for them.

^ What he said. It's a matter of preference.

From personal experience, I had a set of MSP springs on my Protege that were linear and didn't bother me. H&R are also linear and on our cars should ride fine (seems like the favorite spring overall).

Eibachs for $150 is a great deal. Great warranty on them too. Just make sure you get the Pro-kit and not the Sportline, as they'll ride totally different.

Recommend going through the 6/MS6 Wheel Photo Thread ... Its the first sticky under the suspension link. Its long as hell, but will give you the pics you are looking for, plus maybe open you up to other suspensions.

Thanks soooo much for the Intel guys! and the springs im looking at are the sport line. i'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the progressive/liner deal, any info would be much appreciated! and i got the drop wrong its 2 in the front and 1.5 rear. Just picked up a Fujita CAI for $100 bucks too :)

$100 for the intake is a great deal.

Basically, to sum it up, linear springs you will feel the same on smooth roads and no spirited driving as you would on a track. With progressive springs you'll feel a difference between the two. Hope that helps.

Here's a link right from the Eibach site that compares the two:

I only suggest shying away from the Sportlines after watching a local MS6 with them drag his front bumper on the ground during a fun run. Not what I'd like to do with my car.

Thx for the link and why was his front bumper dragging? Are springs an easy install? is there anything else required to drop it? or is it just a spring swap?

No prob. He was sitting really low, and it looked bad to be honest. For springs, aside from the better spring response is the clean uniform tire gap with the car.

Swapping the springs is supposedly a fairly straightforward job, but I've not done it yet to confirm. As far as lowering the car, springs should be the effective solution. Down the road, shocks/struts are gonna be needed, but you can run without them initially.

I wish I did my homework before buying some Megan springs. The drop looks good but the ride quality is the same as stock. This equals to a lot of bottoming out the suspension easily. Search around for my name and you will find a pic of a friends car with the same springs and a lot of body roll during a auto cross event.

Btw I have heard that Eibach spring will tent to at on the rear giving the look that the rear is lower than the front. I think H&R are the only MS6 specific spring with an aggressive drop. People orrect me if I'm wrong

I highly recommend the RPM street springs, they feel great and still give me good enough clearance on bumps and driveways... only scrapped a couple times when I haven't been paying attention. With the Eibach sports you'll need to be a little more mindful of bumps and such. The RPM's are linear.

So Linear = Stiff 100% of the time

Progressive = Start soft for the first 20%(i'm making this number up, i'm not really sure where the point is) then get stiffer the more they compress

Hope that makes some sense to somebody out there besides me?

I have sportlines with koni yellows...I am tucking tire front and back....I hate the sport lines as far as beating on the car back roads. Too much up and down!
Just gonna ride it out till we move, then put the coilovers on.

I'll be running a set of H&R springs with the Whiteline rear sway soon. RPM would be my second choice. Seems apparent that going with a MS6 specific spring is the way to go vs. a regular 6 V6 spring.

I have the Mazdaspeed springs and their ok. If you got weight in the back seat or trunk they tend to sag. As far as ride or comfort they are ok. They get the job done as far as giving your car a lower stance but I dont think they preform as well as they should. I'll be needing to get new shocks/struts soon, so I'll also be upgrading the springs or just go all out and get coil overs.. not for atleast another 6-8 months though.

On 20"s with no weight (silver wheels) on 18"s with wieight (black wheels)
