Got rear ended and got insurance money for it ($1006). It took 7 months to get the money because the insurance companies were playing the blame game... so I've been driving the car like this long enough now that it doesn't really bother me. I don't even really notice it other than while I'm washing it.
I attached a pic... there's no sheet metal damage and very little paint damage (only on the bumper)... so it won't cause rust or problems if I don't fix it. I would like the car to be perfect.. but it's a daily driver and I don't know if that's really ever going to happen. The main problem is that I live in town and have to park on the street. Most of my neighbors are good drivers, but once in a while some of them like to play bumper cars while parking or have general disrespect for anyone elses car. They already damaged the front and rear bumpers on my eclipse, and and on the speed3 they scraped a trash can across the hood and a bike handlebar across the door. I wasn't able to catch them, and despite filing police reports, I wasn't able to get my insurance to fix it (suspiciously the repairs were always below my $250 deductible). We are planning on moving out of town in 2 or 3 years... we just can't stand living so close to everyone and having to park on the street.
Should I worry about fixing the damage (and hope it doesn't get damaged again in a few weeks), or just spend the money on go-fast parts?
I was thinking about a boost gauge, Hallman Pro RX ceramic MBC, and a downpipe or a cobb AP. I already have a MS CAI, a 2.5" turbo inlet pipe, and a 2.5" race pipe. I do take the car to one or two car shows a year... but it's not my primary concern to win anything. I usually don't even enter the judged class. I mostly just use it for daily driving and mountain runs.
