I was wondering if anyone has found a top speed limiter on the 5. The owners manual lists something about 127mph, but I think it has a limiter of 118mph, as my 3 did.

Also, I am consistently getting just under 30mpg combined city/highway with my 08 auto by using the scangauge.

You may be right. Here are some posts:

With some pics (wow)...

I have done 85MPH (nailbyt), LOL

I was anticipating 120, but the governor kicked in just as I clicked the picture.

I haven't had mine at top speed yet. I was just curious, as it seems so stable at high speed.

Never had the 5 up to top speed. The most I have seen was a 55-90 passing stint. I imagine the wife may have seen north of 100MPH while on vacation. Her family is from the middle of nowhere Idaho where there is basically nothing but straight farm roads.

Honestly, I douby the 5 at 120 handles anything like the 80sRX7 I have driven somewhere int he 1150-120 range, but probably a heck of a lot better then my Toyota ECHO at 108 MPH! (how's that for a 108HP 1.5L 4-banger?)
Other than that, never really been north of 100, unless you count my Uncle's old 69 firebird drag car. Was the passenger for a 13 second, 113 or so MPH ride.

I've been into triple digits in my 5 before before I realized it, the engine smoothness really hides how fast you're going. After merging I was surprised at what the spedo was telling me.

That being said, I wasn't really proud of my 'accomplishment' and the car isn't designed to go that fast for sure. Steering was controlled nicely, but talk about major brake fade.

25.97 Mpg

I'm getting 25.97 MPG. I only live 2.3 miles from the office. (spin)
