I was about to purchase my enkei gtc-01s today when the tire rack rep told me that the setup requested wouldn't fit. Please take a look at both options and let me know:

His recommended option:
18x7.5 48mm offset
225/40/18

My set up:
18x8.0 48mm offset
235/40/18

My car is dropped roughly 2" on coilovers so they can go up. Anyone have either of these sizes on a dropped car and care to give insight i would really appreciate it. The difference between the 2 setups is $30 so price isn't an issue. Thanks guys

He is being very conservative, 18x8.0 48mm offset 235/40/18 will work great. 7.5 is not wide enough, you should definetly go with your fisrt choice. What tires are you getting?

the thing is with your lowered car the 235's will probably rub. you then have 2 choices, raise the coilovers or get the fenders rolled

I'd say try the 225 out first, if there's space for the 235, then get the 235 later on when you need new tires. Don't know why I didnt tell you that a couple mins ago on the phone ... lol

Good point but i dont want skinny tires equaling curb rash either. Anyone know hows 225 look on an 8" wheel?

The tires are sumitomo HTRZ III and are bad ass by all tests done since they have come out. And the price is a joke for the performance.

Let me know what u guys think about the tire size. I will NOT be rolling my fenders.

225's are perfect for an 8" Rim.
And the easy answer to curbing..Is to pay attention and don't do it.

I have had wheels on everything I own for nearly 14 years....Only ever Curbed on rim....EVaR!

If it means pulling in far..getting out and looking and moving it..do it.

I dont curb my wheels either, just dont want the lip stickin out further than the tire at $400/rim

Anyone else? I thought everyone on here (rota and tenzo) had 18x8 with a 45mm-48mm offset...are u guys rubbbing?

Front rear or both? Do you recommend getting the 7.5" and 225 then? What kind of suspension do you have and when does it rub? Im guessing upgraded shocks which i have in the coilovers will give less mushy travel and possibly not rub...wada u think?

just rear. rubs on inside of fender lips. I have mazdaspeed springs with camber plates. 225/40s are my next tire.
