I don't think it's going to go back to small wheels being cool again. There is a reason for low profile tires. Big tall sidewalls are not gonna cut it for handling well. Big sidewall tires are good for drive tires on a drag car just not the best for handling.
I am not saying that this is what I want to do to a mazda 3. I will probly go for a light weight 18 rim like the Enkei RPF1 and just go wide as possible on the width. But I have been tempted to go up to 19 and then I thought why settle at 19 why not go up one more size and get the full dub. But dubs don't seem to be made in the racing style they are more in the bling bling style. It is like they cap off the performance wheels at 19.
