Ok, for a multitude of reasons, I want a 12v port in the back of my MS3. It should always have power and should look factory. Anyone know of an outlet that would look factory? Link? What guage cable should I use and where should I run it to for power?

im sure you could buy one of those multi port 12v deals and mount it in the hatch area. and just wire it up possible to the factory cig lighter/power outlet wires.

or tap it into a power wire or just run it right to the battery and have a switch for it to be turned off and on when you need it.

What type of device / devices are you planning on connecting?

Rear 12v outlet

I found this chart on the internet - not to say it is written in stone but the values look good. If you are worried about it bump it down to the next guage to be safe.

It really depends on what you plan to use the outlet for? 12 volts at 15 amps and 20 feet long - 14 guage which is pretty thick - I don't think you'll find another 14 guage wire on your car except for an alternator cable.

Cheers

Peter
