Applying Rockblockers to Taillights

Anyone else have a bit of problems doing the taillights with the round corners. Was there a certain corner you did first. I'm not sure if the 3m was a little to warm so it stretched a bit but it sure took some work to make it go down flat everywhere and not wrinkle.

What's the point of doing the taillights? I've seen a lot of rock induced chips and cracks over the years but always on the front side of the car.

Maybe I don't drive backwards enough?

I think the tinted taillights look sick. and I know they aren't for everyone, but i have teh gun metal altezza's and I think tinting them would look hot. Anyone know if the rockblockers will fit over them? I know they're slightly different shape. I've been toying wit hthe idea of spray tinting them. We'll see.

Otherwise this is why I wanted to do it. Just got the car back from paint. Had all of the rear badges removed and filled the holes.

You can see where the vinyl has wrinkled on me. The day I did it was warm and everything pressed out. Once it cooled it shrunk on me. When I get home tonight I will take the woman's hair dryer to it to try and sort it out.

before this turns into a tinting thread.... some people get "temp" issues with the tint on the taillights, from the heat of the bulbs, and have had bubbling. a very simple solution is VHT Nightshades spray paint (be sure to remove your taillights so you don't spray your car)

do 2 coats and then a clear coat...... unless you want to go darker than do more coats. My friend has 5 coats and 1 clear coat and her taillights are SICK on her mustang. Be warned if you go too dark and people can't see your taillights you're a rear-end waiting to happen......same with tint.

I'd like to get some rockblocker for my headlights on my MS6......anyone know the cheapest place to buy from?

getting mine soon for my cf tails hope takes care of the yellow lenses and you can still see the design behind them.

That's the cheapest ? Usually the company themselves doesn't sell it cheaper than others........ screw it I'm looking on ebay.(ughdance)

Same thing happened to me. I'm thinking about trying out nightshades also since it keeps happening to me.

Yeah I have like 5 friends that have nightshades on their taillights, they like it a lot. Just be careful how many coats you put on, cause one friend has 5 and she doesn't like it cause they are WAY dark, even when stepping on the brakes.

I"ve had rockblocker tint on my tails for a long time and haven't had any issues with them at all.

Of course I didn't have any trouble putting them on. My car was the model for these tinted tails and rockblocker installed them for me.

I think I even have a picture or two.

I almost thought you had a yellow vinyl on your car (in the first attached pic)

Until I glanced again and saw it was the yellow divider on the road's reflection, lol

I had a guy do mine who is very experienced with Rockblockers and they still peeled. I'm going to go back to him to get them redone.

Last night I had all of the wrinkles out while the car sat in the sun so the vinyl was nice and soft. Today I noticed they have wrinkled again. Not as bad as before but still a piss off.

Yep, I fixed mine over 10 times and it still kept happening. I'm gonna have the guy try and do a fresh install again and if that doesn't work I'll submit and try nightshades.
