Heart set on 18's..

Before I order my new wheels I'm double checking everything including size...

I really have my heart set on 18's but have decided not to lower the car, at least not in the near future. I am putting a lip on the front tho because I find with 18's the lip seems to make them fit better proportion wise, to the car.

If anyone on the forum has 18's on there P5 (regardless of wheel type) and they're car is not lowered, please post up some pics so I can get a really good idea of how she'll look..I'm just afraid they'll look to goddy/big or out of place if you will.

Thanx

they wont look to big. but make sure you get the rite size tire, and make sure the off set on the rim in 45+

i pretty sure the offset is +48 for P5's. I have 18's with an offset of +45 with a lowered car and you need to roll the fenders for them to fit in the rear. I didnt' like the way my car looked with 18's and not lowered... lemme see if i still ahve a pic.

no pics

you and i are in the same boat. i have 17's and lowered with a 42 offset. and i rub! i hate it! i dont want to roll the fenders, so i'm looking for 18's now and i'm gonna put the stock springs back on. so yeah, hook us up with some pics people!....please??

You'd definitely need to get like.. 18x7 instead of 18x8, and then try for like a 205/40/18 or 215/40/18 or something.. if those will even fit?

Yes sir - and they ride better than the Racing Harts w/ 45's 18 x 7.5 48mm offset (critical) 215/40/18's

see sig ...

But your P5 is lowered, no?

You'd need some more tire to maybe try and fill the gap if you weren't lowered, else it would look funny.

Here is several pictures of my old p5 before I lowered it. I had 18s and a DG Fiberglass lip.

True - true. Here's a bit of real-life experience however: I'm dropped about 1.5" all around and never scrape ... on anything (with my MSP lips). I did however manage to scrunch my DG lip on damn near everything when my P5 was at stock height. Don't be afraid to drop it (stash)

I really like your P5 yOsky and those wheels make me want to be (naughty) lol

Thanx for the link Bradicus18. I missed that thread somewhere along the way.

My main reason for not lowering her is I don't want it to be any lower than the stock height for when I put my 16's back on for the winter because this winter was rough.

I've finally decided on the wheels I want, and ya might know they were the first ones I seen and I can't get them out of my head, however they do not come in 18" :( or at least I can't find any so 17's it will be and because they are five spoke I think 17's will look much sharper.

So just to double check the wheels I'm getting are 17x7, it doesn't say whether they are 45+ offset just that they are for a FWD offset. Does this sound right or am I gonna run into trouble.
