Removing a Mazdaspeed/AEM CAI

Okay, so I don't have to reinstall the stock intake, BUT I do need to remove the Mazdaspeed 6/AEM CAI from my 06 MS6.

My QUESTION is whether or not this can be done fairly easily and quickly, with just a screwdriver and a wrench? No lift, no jack. Can I pull it out in one piece or will I have to break it down by sections again in order to wiggle it out, etc. My friend installed it for $25 in about 45 minutes (he's installed a ton of CAIs), so I have NO idea what it will entail getting it out. Unfortunately, the Nissan Dealer where I traded it in, aren't being too helpful, since it's their car now--I had to trade it in to lower costs since I bought a house--and I think they'd rather I didn't take $150-$200 out of the car (though they seem to be agreeing to let me do it). I'm just hoping one of you can tell me that it's REALLY easy to do if all I want to do is unscrew it and pull it out.

(note: Anyone who lives in/near Jacksonville, FL, who wants to help me, can also buy the thing from me for $150 at the same time!! It's a Mazdaspeed brand CAI that was only on my car for about 2 months--I just bought the car last November and got the CAI in January.)

Note: I'll be selling it here for $175 + $20 shipping as soon as (IF) I can get it removed.
thanks,
Joe F.

The FS rules will need to be followed if you want to sell it on here.

On the removal note.

The airfilter won't fit through the hole that the intake tube runs through. The intake will come off very easy(just a few hose clamps and the Mass Air Flow Sensor) but to get the filter out you will have to remove the inner fender liner. (That thin plastic between the air filter and the wheel.) That is only held on by a few pressure clips and a couple of screws. If you can pull that out of the way enough without having to remove the front tire you should be able to remove the whole intake in less than 20 minutes.

The intake has (4) hose clamps(you only need to remove the top-most clamp, the one closest to the firewall)
The MAF
(1) bolt holding it to the car
The line that connects to the BOV.

See the picture below for the location of all the parts on the Intake.

dang. thanks for the great pic jdub. yeah, i'll put if for sale in the proper area. i just wanted to throw it out there that any jax people looking for a CAI could help me and get a good deal--i only own a leatherman, a few screwdrivers, and a wrench or two.

i'm going to look up the specs on those bolts tonight and pick up a wrench before going out there tomorrow morning.

THANKS AGAIN!!

Not a problem. :D

I did forget to mention that there is one more hose clamp on the air filter itself but all you need is a screwdriver to remove that one too.

I'm at work right now or I would go out and get the bolt size, I left my tool kit in the garage last night so I can't get the exact size, sorry.

Good luck with the removal.
