yeah it would be really nice if they'd bring over teh Verisa and Demio/2.. but sadly your guess is correct.. simpletons for the lose.

The Versia reminds me of a new Mini Cooper mixed with a small SUV, and the Spiano reminds me of an old school Mini crossed with a Scion xB. The Versia isn't bad, but that's all I can say. Neither strike me as Mazda.

I'm sorry, the point that i was trying to make was that overseas you actually get a whole selection of interesting cars. It would just be nice to have the choice to get those cars if we wanted to. My wife is now actually thinking about getting a honda fit, and i think that the Verisa would be an interesting car to compare it to.
Oh and have you guys seen the new MPV in japan?

If it wasn't for planning out a family, the Honda Fit would be in the top 3 of my next car. Nice little car to zip about in, econoboxes are my favorite cars to drive, don't ask why...

The 5 still fits the econobox classification, in my eyes, so I'm still happy :)

Because we are a nation of fat lazy beer drinking blue collar workers that like big, loud cars that go really really fast. Remember those articles saying the 5 was slow, it was slow for those guys.

Me? It's the fastest car I've ever owned and I love every ounce of it.

When the big three go out of business, I was station in the far east for 5 yrs, and they always have something we don't have here in the states. That mpv is so great looking for a minivan. Some friends of mine email me that the mazda mpv should be in the states in 08. Don't hold me on that, just wait and see what happens in the next 2 to 5yrs. zoomzoom

In other words, us non-gay people.

I couldn't have said that any better myself!

I mean seriously. When they called the 5 underpowered, EVERY article said that. What is the measuring stick for underpowered? I have no problems from a red light taking off and leaving people. On the highway, drop into 3rd and take off, no problems. So, is it simply that Americans (or car mag writers) need a big engine or it's underpowered? I mean where's the scientific evidence that sets the median for perfectly powered, underpowered? I've always wondered what the benchmark is and WHO set it.

Besides, the buyer of the 5 is not living month to month off money won from 1/4 mile races.
