Newb Needs Opinions on Suspension Setup!

Hey, my name's Bryan. After becoming fed up with my rather portly Volkswagen Gti Vr6, I decided that I wanted something that would be more satisfying to drive. Needless to say my search ended with an 03 White P5, manual transmition and a blast to drive.

The first mod I am considering is a reasonable drop, and after searching the forums i decided upon the espelir springs. The only problem is, I can't find the suckers anywhere! I think i heard about an authorized vendor on the forums having them, but I am unable to track him down.

My question to everyone is should I upgrade the shocks/struts at the same time? If so, who makes a good strut for my driving style (Very well mannered, nothing extream).

Basically I just want a good drop without any sort of major expenses down the road.

If anyone could help we out with tracking down a good espelir/strut combo deal that would be awesome!

Thanks again for the help,
Bryan

Some day I'll get new struts. I have the Eibach springs with stock struts and still going strong after 102 thousand miles.

I suggest the Espelir's with tociko Hp's. You can get the springs from the here, unless they stopped the sale already http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123643510&highlight=espelir. As for the shocks, try protegegarage.com or ebay or there are plenty of other places.

thanks for the plug (first)

espeliers are great springs as well, paired with tokico illuminas the car handles unbelievable. depending on what you are looking for, one cannot go wrong with racing beat or eibach pros either.

I just got the pro kit springs on with the help of some guys from the forums and I love the look of it. I personally prefer the Eibachs over any. That's just my 2 centavos.

I use Progress springs with their rear sway bar, 22mm. It's a great package. It rides well, doesn't crash over bumps but gives a lot of feedback and a lot of grip (on the track as well as the street). You probably should upgrade the struts at the same time; it's an 'as long as you're in there' sort of thing. I wasn't able to, but my car still rides well.

Im on Tokico HP's on Tein S-techs. I would suggest softer progressive springs. Mine are too stiff
