Man that's not early. Get up at the crack of dawn, just before the sunrise and snap some pics. You'll get some great results like this.

Lots of people don't know it, but cloudy day shooting is some of the best there is. Get's much of the same result.

i know its not THAT early, but its before noon and the sun was just coming over the hills and trees. i saw the camera when i was leaving for work, and thought i would snap a couple of shots. i don't even think the pictures turned out that great.
 
Exactly. Unless you have a polarized filter, overcast days are best for keeping light refraction and glare down.

those pictures were taken through a polarizing filter, but i couldn't get the setting quite right.
