Brakes Dragging...?!

I just changed the pads and the rotors and now all of a sudden my brakes are dragging when I'm not on the pedal. The rotors and pads are the correct ones.

The problem is that its a very tight fit to get the caliper down over the pads facing the outside of the car/rotor (outer pads). The inner pad (one piston pushes) has a ton of room, its just the outer ones are really tight and cause resistance without being on the pedal.

I could be wrong. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Which car ? Front or rear brakes ?
If you have rear disks, you probably forgot to adjust the adjustment gear.

-Yes, the piston was compressed. I used two different sets of pads to rule out the pads (Hawks and Raybestos). The rotors I compared were practically identical to the existing ones on the car, except the existing ones were all rusty and beat up.

-We are talking about the front discs here. I have rear drums on my 01'. The front system is basically the same except 4 lug (same calipers as a ES 5 lug, etc.)

I have changed pads on this car before. I never had a problem with putting new pads or rotors on. Now I am unsure as to what might be causing the problem. Maybe the piston in the caliper is sticking??? I highly doubt it because both sides are dragging. Is there a way to adjust the middle swinging section of the front calipers??? SIBalla is coming by today with some extra caliper I gavce to him and I'm going to attempt to swap the stuff out again hoping that it is the calipers.

Try re-greasing the slide "pins", and make sure you put the spring clips that spread the pads apart were installed properly as well.

Yea it was his slide pins on both front calipers. They were so seized up when we tried to do the brake job that the caliper couldnt swing up from the bracket. It took alot of force and you couldnt get the pin out. So we just swapped out the calipers for ones I had sitting around. We greased everything up that needed to be greased, and installed everything back to normal and it works good now. I know Mike (maz2001mp) is happy about it now. Maybe he will comment back in his own thread soon.
