RallyRacing Mazdas photos

Ramada

Doubt I'll be there.
Just returned from Rally of the Tall Pines in Canada. I was codriving a Subaru but we shared a cottage and servicecrew with Jen Horsey who was running a 323 and Jake Himes was there with his RX7.

i want to get into rally, and it is a bit more likely now that I live in NJ. I just have to get out there and start doing stuff (as long as I'm in-country)

nice. what class is the Protege's in and the Mazda3? It's be so cool if mazda3 could get support from mazda and be in the WRC.

The Protege is Gr2 (small displacement 2WD modified class) which is a class only recognized in US and Canada. The Mazda3 is Gr5 (large displacement or forced induction or rotory 2WD modified class) recognized in US and select Canadian regional rallies.

The watercrossing pic is of Susquehannok Trail Pro Rally run outta Wellsboro PA each summer. Yes, we finished. Some years the watercrossing stage is cancelled because the water is too deep. Besides cars injesting water, another common problem is cracking the heated brake discs.

sorry, didn't know there was a group 5. Is that new? Or am I a schmuck?

subbing because I think some more sweet pics mught be popping up again!

I agree, there should be a whole sticky thread in the pics section that everyone can submit their rally shots

Gr5 was a SCCA class when I started in 1999 and continued when Rally America started sanctioning most former SCCA events.
NASA RallySport also has split small and large displacement/forced induction modified 2WD into two seperate classes and named them M1 & M2.
