in case you werent aware im having to rebuild the motor because i spun a connecting rod bearing. once we got it apart we saw it was the #4 cylinder and the bearing was in pretty bad shape. i dont know if you can see it that well in the pics. were looking into the possibility of a bad oil pump and ill let everyone know what i find out. so anyways enjoy the pics and everyone sit back and (hah)

they just plain look... big. again, im coming from the fs in that respect, where the rods are smaller than my thumb..

they look like they could handle a stupid amount of sideload

Damn... sometimes I hate being right. Sorry about your luck, dude. (notcool)

Did the bad bearing wipe out the crankshaft or is it ok (or at least salvageable)?

DO you know how you did it? What about your warranty?

thanks for handeling my light work GW.lol. and yeah u suck you had to be right didnt ya?? the crank is still good, im gonna take it to the machine shop along with the flywheel and block to get done. im just gettin the block flushed out and then the cylinders honed. (in case theres any metal chunks in there still.)

Yea i took a pic of the clutch but it didnt turn out that good, so ill try another tomorrow. is there anything in particular u needed to know about it?

Yea i was using an HP camera, stupid thing doesnt take good close up pics.

Any upgrades planned or going back to stock?

We just warrantied a 2.3l in a 6 for a rod knock, it was out of warranty by like 6kmiles. I believe the guy had to pay for the labor or something to that effect. He was also about 1-2 qts low on oil. It pays to have your maintenances done at the dealer, if he hadn't there is no way he would have gotten the motor. Sad but true.

How much did he pay for labor? What's the book time on the engine swap?

For what Tony paid for the engine, he would have only gotten about 19 hours of dealership labor.

It pays around 10-12 hrs. It takes about 9-10hrs.

That's not too horrible, I guess.

Still... as he didn't get his oil changed at the dealer, they probably would have made him pay for everything.

Very true.

plus the service manager or district manager, whoever it is, is an ass hole out here at Sesi. When they had that service bulletin on the rear brakes i took mine in there and they told me that they werent gonna mess with them because m calipers were painted. C'mon now, i know better then to get paint on the slider pins so theres NO reason paint would have affected by brakes GRINDING. I was not gonna give them any more $$$.
And 10-12 hours isnt THAT bad, but at the same time its not good. I dont know what Sesi charges per hour bout its gotta be around $80. So lets just say 10 hours, times $80, thats $800 in labor alone. Thats how much i got my fidanza flywheel and spec cluth for.lol
