Garden spiders are badass, grab a straight foot-long stick put two on opposite ends, and have them move towards each other.

(wow) ...remind me not to go to your garage! i'll stick to our wonderfly large cane spiders. they make good pets that keep the house free of bugs...unfortnately the spider that was in my room exited into the main house. someone downstairs freaked out and kept mashing it until it ripped into three pieces... :'(

that would be a dead one if it was anywhere near me...but you think that one is bad? look up camel spider...those fuckers are freaky

The orb spiders make some really cool webs. We had one spin a web between the two magnolias in our backyard recently. It's amazing that something that small can span a good 20 feet with a web! We joked that it was just waiting for our pudgy beagle/basset dog Rocky to wander into the web and then the little spider would be yelling "Motherlode! I've hit the motherlode of meals!"

Luke - the two we have to watch out for in GA are the brown recluse and the black widow. (eek2)
