hating civics?

I dont hate civics...I would mind having one myself. As said before they're dirt cheap. Its just that you end up hating the car because of the fuctards that drive them but true, sometimes thats any car.
Seems more like the bandwagon thing to do. That ugly car with a bodykit actually looks like an accord.
I enjoy my civic. Even if it's horribly ugly, it's become a fantastic autocross and track b**** for me. Although it lacks power, tt's much more fun to drive than my mazda. You have to give them credit where credit is due. It's 2100 lbs, has a double wishbone suspension, and gobs of aftermarket parts.

First of all, just because your ex "is" Asian and even if her whole family drives civics doesn't mean that you have to hate civics(or them). You probably hate civics because there are civics out there that are wantta-be racer, and they pissed you off. I have to be honest, some of them are probably Asian, but I've seen lot of non-Asian driving a ricer/racer, and some of them are pretty horrible driver. Just because the ricer is cutting lanes and pissing you off, that doesn't mean that they are "Asian". I've seen some pretty good Asian drivers, on and off the track. As for the civic or Honda, I think we all know that it's one of the best automobile around so I think you are confusing your hate against a certain ethnicity with the car some of them drive.
I'm glad there are enough people responding that are level headed enough to distinguish a person from a car. I was afraid this was going to degenerate into another honda bashing thread.
I have an '89 CRX with a B18b as my autox/track/fun car. It's fast enough, high 14s with an inexperienced drag racer on street tires.
I also have a '87 Civic Wagon with 4wd. I recently finished putting a larger D16a1 engine w/ a weber carb nearly doubling horsepower. Its a blast to drive, especially in the dirt. Silky smooth revs/reliability of a japanese car with snarl, spit and sound of an old, small British/Italian sportscar.
Both have an incredible personality and are part of the Civic line. I can't think why anyone would hate such a thing. Is the Civic that different from the Protege?

Ive seen a few clean ones. In fact one of the mechanics at work had a nice one, it was a blue Si and he superchargedit, left the stock rims on it and lowered it tinted the windows and added some sparcos. It was quite nice. He kept with the blue theme and he didnt cover it in useless stickers, but he wrecked it 
i don't think he was confusing it with his hate of an ethnicity if he hated asians why would he have dated one? and he didn't say he didn't like civics because of the car, it was because of the people that drive them not asians not black people not white people just stupid people in genral.
i've seen people of every race rice civics out
i feel the way most people do about them i like em especially the nice ones that look like the spoon or mugen cars their tight. i personally hate hondas engines though i test drove an si before i got my protege loved everything about the car except for the fact that it and every other honda i've driven feel like they have no power at all until the freakin v-tec opens i personally don't like waiting till 4500 or so rpm before my car feels like its moving i like that the protege feels like its moving(well moreso than the civic) even in the lower rpms
that and i hate the way most honda drivers act like their car is the fastest thing in the world and then when they get pwned they always pull some lame excuse up "oh i missed a shift" "my clutch is bad" case in point look at my signature samething happens everytime i race my friends integra he gets beat and then those horrible excuses come flying out thats my $.02 tho

wow, i never would have thought someone would have said i hated asians...if anything i love asians. so i have no idea where that came from. i was just arguing with her *(ex) about her brother who riced his out. i also don't hate civics cause one of my friends had one of the nicest civic i've seen and i loved riding in it, until he totalled it. so i'm sorry if i come across as if i hate civics or asians, cause i don't. i just dont like people who think they own the road and think they're invincible. i started this thread to hear people's opinions on the subject. so please don't come at me about hating a particular race or car. Thapro1 put it best when he said "just stupid people in general."

I heart well done civics & intergras.
I don't dislike Honda or the people who drive them. I've owned 3 hondas. I think that since 2001, Honda has moved away from the fun and affordable cars to a more "Corolla" type approach.
I had a 2001 Civic LX and that car was prone to a lot of issues (first model year). It got recalled 5 times, was at the dealer every month for the first six months for a number of small annoying issues. It didn't drive like the prior Hondas since it no longer had fully independent suspension. It was gutless and heavy. I think any Pre-2001 Hondas are excellent cars. In my humble opinion, the old Integras were more fun to drive than the new RSX. The RSX is made on the same platform as the Civic.

I don't like the plastic s*** on any car and that's what so many people do to those poor, powerless, unsuspecting Civics. For the ricers that actually ad MORE plastic with these huge gawdy (sp?) body kits to make their cars HEAVIER....never understood it and never will. Yes, there are some which look slick, but it seems most Civic modifiers gravitate to the overstated visual and underdelivered power as opposed to the sleeper which so many of us MSP'ers are. I owned my 93 Si for 9 years and put 100K miles on it. I loved that car because no matter what I wanted to do to it there were a million manufacturers who made it. After I invested $5K in it I did better track times than 2 different new model Mustang Cobra SVT's. Granted, in a straight line they'd have smoked me, but if I wanted to drive in a straight line I'd get a funny car 
Plus, I sold it for $400 more than blue book high retail (which was $400 more than my I'd-be-amazed-if-I-got-this-price).

definetly a nice Honda......I always like the when they're clean & simple...well that really goes for any car. If you put a Terminator wing on anything it just looks rediculous.....
