Hey everyone. I just bought an 03 P5 and I love it so far. I traded in a Dodge Durango 5.9 R/T. The gas was killing me. I knew the P5 was going to be mine as soon as I drove onto the car lot it just called me. I love the look and the test drive sold me. I can't wait to do some minor mods. Will probably start out with tinted windows then move on to stereo, lowering springs, and short throw shifter. I do have a couple ???'s though. What's the difference between the 03's and the 03.5's? I've read a few referances to the 03.5's and was just wondering what's the difference. I assume I have the 03.5 since I have the Sub in the back. Also is there somewhere I can look up what is involved with changing the springs for lowering? I couldn't find it when I searched. Sorry about the long first post.
Don

Hey thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. Nice looking P5 you have there.

I think the 2 major differences between the 03 and 03.5 was the 03.5 had the subwoofer and the roof rack was not standard, just do a search, plenty of threads on the differences between the 4 models

Welcome. I hope you have a good paying job, beacuse once you start the modding it's hard to stop. Anyhow, you've come to the right place for all your questions, welcome again!

Yeah I spotted that thread. I'm thinking the eibach or I read some good things about the Espelir. I don't know yet though.

Welcome to the boards! If you're looking for some light-heavy mods, check out www.protegegarage.com. I know the owner and he's a good guy. Half the forum here would probably say the same.

Are you planning on doing anything for performance?

I did almost exactly the same thing! Traded in 02 4Runner (which I got brand new and drove for 1.5 years) for 03.5 p5.. hated the fuel eco of the SUV (17.6 avg) and how crappy it turned/stopped/insert 100 other things here/etc.
Had my p5 for over a year now (over 20k miles) and still absolutely love it. Love to drive it and I averaged 30.4 mpg on my last tank! :D

Welcome. I'm a P5 newbie too and these guys were all very friendly and helpful when I first found this place a few weeks ago. You'll like your P5 even more after you've had it a while ...I do. (nana)

welcome!!
Same here. tint, wheels, exhaust, stereo, lowered in that order.
Stay away from Goldline lowering springs.. Far away!

Thanks for all the welcome aboards!! I'm not sure what performance mods I'm gonna do. Probably not anything major. Something to open up the intake. I'm thinking about the mod where you cut the platic right in front of the intake. Not sure yet though. Maybe exhaust but I don't really like the sound of most of the 4cyl. exhausts out there. I don't know. It's all moot right now as I'm broke. (argh)
