Window tint

For those of you who already have your windows tinted:

Where did you get it done and how much, and did they do the back window in one solid sheet, or have to splice it?

I've been thru the hassle of a place (Ziebart - avoid at all costs!) cutting a defroster line, and don't want to have to deal with that poop again.

Thanks

Don't want to throw the thread off your topic, but has anyone considered orange tinting on the car?

This is my yellow, with yellow window tint. Definetly an eye-catcher. Took a bit of getting used to...:)

I tinted my windows all the way around at 20% it cost $200
What they did in the back was cut individual slivers for each gap in the defroster lines, they did a really good job too, my car looks dope, ask spicymsp she's seen it. Just have to be careful around cops. I roll the front ones down when I see one coming

Here is another one...It cost me $185 due to the fact the guy had to order a whole roll. The cops have not said anything to me about it, but you can see right in my car. At night time is when it is freaky...everything is yellow :-)

Yea I would say 20% is the way to go all around. Redmption's tint looks bad ass, especially in person. I am a little hesitant to get tint on my front windows, because I got a fix it ticket in my other car.

Here they be

Looks like a quality tint job. That is a one piece rear window. They didn't cut an individual sliver of tint for each defroster line. That is just residual water under the film which will evaporate after a few weeks.

Sorry but you are wrong. If you could see it up close you would see the strips have jaggies around them because they were cut by hand. I have had the windows tinted for about a month and in Cali weather all the water dried up in like a week. If they would have done it in one sheet the defroster lines would have fried that s****

I'm not doubting what you've said. But I can tell you that defrosters do not burn up window tint film. Every car I have owned and tinted, I have installed a one-piece rear window. Two of my friends worked in a tint shop for years and this was never an issue. Not to start a flame war, but if you ask most experienced tinters, a one piece rear window installation is the preferred method. Ask around on the window tinting forum www.tintdude.com

I agree with what was said above. I have owned many cars with tinted windows and one piece rears and have never had a problem with the defroster burning up the tint. Actually we all used to make fun of our friend with a new IS300 because they did his rear window in 3 pieces and you can see every one of them. Looks really crappy. I have 35% on mine. Will post a picture later. Not as dark as I would like it but the laws says it has to be that way and I have had tickets for this before. BTW I wasn't saying your tint job looked bad it actually looks really good but I just don't like the way they did your rear window. Oh yeah and I paid $200 for mine, including the strip in the front.

SLAMPROTEGE5 Is that picture of your car with the spool springs on it? Cause damn that thing is slammed. That rear wheel tuck looks good as hell. Any scrapping or draggin?

In CA you can have it as dark as you want in the back but cant have the front tinted at all... Oh well they will have to catch me first

FunwagOn...that pic is with the skunk2 coilovers on. The spool has about the same drop in the front, but not so slammed in the back. Dragging happened often:)

This is another shot of my back window. I have always had just one solid piece on the rear window, never had a prob with the defrost.
