mazda sport speed exhaust muffler on ebay - any idea?

it's exactly that. it's the mazdaspeed sport exhaust for the p5 that you can get from the dealer. i've got it. it's pretty nice, although it drones a bit around 3500 rpm. what i do like is that it fills the exhaust cut out in the bumper perfectly. i'm not sure if it's to long for your rear bumper, though. unless your bumper is the same as the usdm ones.

woo thanks! i'd also like to see a muffler fill the cut out, but not so confident with those cheaky replicas. when U say it drones a bit around 3500 rpm, how about other ranges? does it sound nice but not too aggressive (at other than 3500rpm)?

oh, is it a direct bolt-off bolt-on job? thanks!

i don't have any problem with it until i hit about 75mph. there's a point around 70mph where you can't here it, but it get's pretty loud from there. not annoying loud, just loud. it's a nice deep tone, not buzzy at all. here's a pic of it installed on my car.

did you have to shorten the pipe from the can to the tip, or did it come like that. I know mine is a whole lot longer. maybe they made 2, one for sedan and another for the wagon.

oh man! the stock muffler looks pathetic.

judging from the photo, it would fit on my LHD SP20. is it difficult to diy? the bolts seems hiding a bit deep.

Yes, the sedan and 5 are different. The P5 tailpipe is shorter.

i think the new zealand sp20 has an even shorter bumper than the usdm one so if you did get it, you still might have to chop a bit off the extension before the tip. otherwise, it's two bolts and took me less than 10 minutes to do it (with a lift and airt tools).

I have this

It is loud, but I love it, the other one was way quiet. Just don't get it if it would annoy you on the freeway, at 70 mph...you know its there

I just bought the greddy evo two and i love it, because its not to loud. I have heard that the mazda speed is really loud, but hey you get what you pay for. You spend $500.00 you get a good sound.

thanks protege02. the auction was finished but the seller was kind enough to offer me another one @ $139, also a very low $40s shipping to new zealand (economy, takes longer than a month though).

thanks laserblue, 70MPH is about the highest i can get legally on the highway here, anything beyond 110KM will result in a ticket.

thanks mp05, can't afford those ones, although kinda like them.

ahh!!! U r absolutely right!

nz sp20 is 4280 mm in length, or 168.5 inches

P5 is 170.5 inches in length, or 4331 mm.

there would be a 5 cm difference (wow)

anyone knows where this 5 cm come from? all on the rear bumper or split between the read and front?

P5 is also slightly higher(!?)

all other dimension figures are the same between P5 and sp20, wheelbase, track, etc.

the height might be something to do with the roof rack mount thingy in the states. but length... the pics say for themselves.

Protege 5 Butt - sorry this pic came from somewhere or someone but i can't remember.
