Ive been kitted!

Well, after another successful season winning shows with the JDM thing (I placed in all 8 or so shows I attended including 2nd at the Darknights Nationals), I decided to finnaly step over that line of 'Nice local Car' to being a more competitive showcar as I wish to start attending larger US shows like HIN, etc. So, I recently bought a kit and we just finished with it on Saturday evening (hence the car itself being dirty in the pics).

Some modding that went into the kit:
-there were 'door moldings' that were on the 1/4 of both the front and rear bumpers and we had to cut them out and put new glass in.
-the rear bumper was only set up for single exhaust (on the passenger side). We had to create the 2nd outlet and we tried to mimc the original opening by putting in new 'posts'.
-the little 'hump' on the front of the sides is where the little 'wings' (similar to that of the Mugen sides or a Wings West side) mount to. These were lost (the kit was stored for almost 3 years) and so we had to fabricate replica ones which did not get finished in time.
And like I said, my car is filthy. Especially the trunk cause I drove around for a week with no rear bumper and collected all kinds of carbon from my exhausts.

Enjoy.

your car looks sick. i dislike the wing and dual exhaust, but i think overall your car looks really nice. keep putting trophies on the shelf

I've only seen one other 2nd gen that I would put in the same class of pimp with you. His name Travis and he lives near Waco, Texas.

Good job!

i was expecting to come into this thread seeing the typical kitted car disaster.

I actually really like this. The Wing is different, but I still like it. I think the angles that you took the picture at make it look larger then it might be in person. The side on shot, ot doesn't look so bad. Never take pics of a spoiler from down low looking up at it. If it is that high, I'd probably cut the middle legs a bit to lower it some if I were to be picky

Yes, it has a hood scoop that's probably all show, yes, we don't have dual exhaust on our cars. There's some things people around here need to get over. But I think it is one of the cleaner better kits I've seen

Good job

damn bro that looks sick. I love evrythign about it, the wing even looks good, and not a big fan of spoilers. good shti budddy hope to see you at HIN in AC

Looks like the front bumper's riding a little low on the passenger's side.
My driveway is a little slanted to the one side. I assure you, the bumper is 100% even.

Also, the scoop is functional. It came of the JDM 95-96 Mazdaspeed Protege that has the B6T. The OEM IC is suposed to sit under it (similar to a WRX or 2gen Eclipse)

The wing appears bigger in the pics. Its not as big as it looks...lol

I think what natey is talking about is the gap on the passenger side. Just beside the headlight, next the the middle grill. There's more gap on one side then on the other.

But, I think the center grill may be tilted or twisted some and it's causing that illusion. Look at how tight the hood meets the grill in the middle on one side, but on the other it's got a little space.

This being very picky though.

i'm so suspicous after being fooled by some really good photochops....i can't tell anymore if this is real or not

EDIT: if it is real, nice job mang, looks good

Looks good. My personal taste would call for the removal of the dual exhaust and lose the swooping decal on the sides. The wing is cool.

wow...looks great. awesome job on the rear bumper. you cant even tell that it didnt come with two outlets. also, one of the few cars that spoiler looks good on. theres a neon around here with the same one, but a couple inches taller and i have to laugh at him every time i drive by, but you pulled it off quite nicely.

Looks really good for a show car! I think throwing some nice 18's on it would really fill up the wheel wells nicely now that the car's body sits lower from the kit.
