nice, I need to get exhaust done for sure, so if I get a cat-back and then later get a downpipe, is that like replacing the entire exhaust from the turbo back? Or will there still be some stock parts left? Which is the best downpipe to go with? Ion, Hi-boost, Apex???

i have the apoex 2.5 catless downpipe to a 3'' resonator to 3'' the rest the way out sounds good and i know its freed up so hp. i hope

Ima not sure a local shop did this for me . The only thing is is that the muffle inlet was 2 and 3/4 and 2.5 inside out to 3'' He told me he could get a 3'' all the way throuhj . That is what he was supposed to order, so he is going to try and get another one . Do you think that is hurting my flow , or should i just leave it like it is, It sounds real good. I may get it ceramic coated .

When people say downpipe they mean different things. Our exhaust goes from turbo S-pipe to a J-pipe, a mid-pipe (with the two cats), and a rear muffler section. Apex replaces the catted section I believe.

what kind of muffler design is that that the diameter decreases from the inlet?? i mean i guess i could see how the designers would use the reduced diameter to speed up the exhaust flow but it's gonna serve as a bottleneck once you start pushing more flow that it can handle. i'd get it replaced.

They probably just welded a 3" pipe to a 2.5" inlet muffler (meant for 2.5" piping). They probably had it sitting around the shop and thought you would never know the difference.
