After nearly 2 years of owning the P5, I decided to take off the vinyl pinstriping the dealer put on. I also removed the roof rack and popped on the caps. I think it looks a lot sleeker. I know, I know, the antenna has gotta go. Will be replaced with a shorty antenna once I start making $ at my new job. Roof rack took about 5 minutes to swap out. The pinstriping took an hour and a half, and 1/2 a bottle of Goo Gone. Will put on some Zymol car wax tomorrow.

After pics are coming...

Here it is, after the rack and pinstriping were removed, and given a bath. What do you think?

Looks good...I made the dealership remove my striping before I even drove it off the lot.
I thought the striping showed the body lines pretty good. I then only removed the "Sullivan Watts" that was on the front fenders and on the back. But Once I saw more P5's without them, I wanted to take it off. Glad I did not wait too much longer, where it would have fused to the paint. The body side moldings I want to take off, but I like how they protect me from door dings all the time.

Well, I'm a fan of the roof rack personally, but I think the P5 almost looks bigger (and a little more "expensive") with the stripes off. IMHO, the car is just too small to be broken up by stripes.

My 03.5 came w/out stripes, and when I traded it for the 02 I asked them to remove the pinstripes only if there was no fading...and there wasn't, even on a black mica.

And I agree, losing the side moldings looks sweet - just not worth the dings for me either as I use a parking garage 5 days a week.

Anyway, you've got a clean lookin' ride there!

I like the roof rack look as well, but I never haul anything up there, and it is pretty noisy on the freeway. Was going 90 on I-75 before I realized how fast I was going. Usually get a lot of wind noise around 75 MPH. Will keep them off for a while though, just to make sure I want to keep them off.

If you like the profile of the rack, you can just remove the crossbars and keep the rails. That should still eliminate most of the noise.

Yep, it is one loud rack.

looks good! the reason I took of the side moldings is because around here most everyone has a monster truck disguised as an SUV so their doors go above mine anyways (dunno)
