Anyone use an ACAUTOTECHNIC block adapter to install their Autometer elec oil press gauge? If so, was there enough room for the sender or did you have to add a right angle adapter to it? I spoke to a rep at ACAUTOTECHNIC and was told that the thread was a 1/8 NPT.

Well, purchased ACAUTOTECHNIC block adapter after work today. Seems like it will be a good fit. I will be installing an Autometer oil pressure and oil temp gauge tomorrow. Looked like pressure sending unit was going to hit the block so I picked up some 90 degree brass fittings and a 1.5" nipple. Just in case. I didnt want to be stuck having to make a run to the store. Here are some pics of the parts and how I think it will have to be put together. I will try to take pics as I do the install.

I bought mine locally, you know "support the local economy", for $72. I've seen it on-line for $45. Fitting are cheap $5 @ home depot. I'm going to see one of my friends this morning @ Hydra Air Pacific. He has the fittings in SS.

Is that block adapter specifically for adding gauge senders? It looks like an adapter for adding an oil cooler. If it's an oil cooler bypass adapter, make sure that your sending units don't plug up the oil flow. That would be an expensive mistake.

Let us know if there is any installation problems. I wanted to have both oil pressure and oil temp in my car, but after hearing people having problems with the greddy adaptor having to be re-taped and all, i steered away from the block adaptor idea. Hopefully this adaptor will work with no re-tapping issues.

Installed ACAUTOTECHNIC block adapter today. It is an adapter for gauges, threads are 1/8 NPT. If it were for an oil cooler I think that the port would have to be a lot bigger in order to accomodate the flow. Although, I dont understand the reason for 4 ports, 2 would be enough. I didnt get to take any pics I was pressed for time. The install went fine. The adapter fit well with no issues. Learned a lot today. The autometer oil temp was only designed to be used in the oil pan (called them). Currently, I have it on the block adapter and it pegs the 250. Will have to relocate it to the oil pan later. Does anyone know if someone makes a drain plug adapter for the oil temp that has a 1/8 NPT thread? I dont want to drop the pan to add a bung at this time.

(yippy) Thanks for the info!

Sorry to bring this thread from the dead, but I need to know which verison of the oil block adapter the original poster ordered. Was it the thin or the thick version? Part number?

PM'ed a week ago, but never got a response.

Any new issues/problems? Did you relocate the oil temp sensor to the oil pan?
