What cold air intake to get

personally, i like the k&n typhoon. it looks awesome and ken (protegegarage) has a great price on it. unlike every other site that sells them for $400

I got it from a local shop here..

I did some website work for them and so sometimes I get hooked up...

I thought about doing a write up on the install and take pics as I do it...

Yeah the K&N looks nice. I personally prefer the AEM. Ihave had it on other cars after other intakes and prefer there fit and finish plus there performance gains. For now I just want something better in looks and performance than stock and cost me as little as possible. Down the road I am looking at going turbo (least a year after I rebuild the motorand eveything else is done) so makes no sense to me to spend a bundle on parts I dont really need.

KYMP5 I will have to call you Friday or Monday about that CAI. After I got off the forum I drove downtown and blew another tire. (sad1) So after purchasing two more Kumho Ecsta 712s and yet another alighnment. Which I gotta wait 2 days before my tires even get here. So I didn't forget ya...just having a bad month...BTW you wouldn't happen to be a Wings West dealer would you? If you saw I got my front busted up pretty good 2 weeks ago...why go stock...stock sucks.

Sry didn't mean to thread jack

KYMP5,
I just got my Ractive SRI that I ordered from you, as promised on time delivery and I must say, the quality of the Ractive is noticeably superior than the ebay intake.
The welds and the weight of the materials is great.
I am about to head over to the how to section and print me out some instructions... (hope they are there...)

jsut let me know when you want to order, and im not a ww dealer yet.

elias, glad you like it, post some pics when you get it on

I just bought the Racitve CAI and am very excited. Are there instructions with it? If not, maybe I will make some as I go. Noticed though, that it is not a true CAI? Is it a short ram? What is the difference other than the pain of putting a cone filter in? Performance?

it comes with instructions and is a pretty simple install. It will probably take you 20 minutes or so after you get the factory airbox and stuff out

I installed my K&N intake today.

I like it much better than the Injen... The kit quality is better in my opinion.. It also has more brackets to make it more steady than the Injen.

after installing both the Injen and the K&N, I would buy another K&N over the Injen.

my 2 cents...

Here are before and after pics..
The first one is the before pic.. I also painted my strut bar gun metal grey...
