    Winter tires in GTA

Further to me earlier posting -- It's been a while and the set up is great. We were in heavy snow in Western NY and Pennsylvania after Christmas and the tires were amazing. The rims are perfect and the handling at high speed is excellent for snow tires. I can't believe how much more Canadians...

    Winter tires in GTA

I just ordered from Tirerack.com. Got a winter package of General Altimax Arctic 225/65/17 on Sport Edition F7. I had the General Altimax Arctics on my Mazda 6 previously and they were great tires for a very reasonable price. This package was $1,012 (all inclusive) and is being shipped to my...

    Brake dust

I drive manual and generally get twice the life expectancy that auto TXs get. My Mazda 6 had 180K and I only replaced the brakes around 95K. I tend to let the engine do the slowing down by dropping a gear or two, especially on steep declines.

    Suggestions on winter tires

Try General Altimax Arctic. I just bought some and had them on my Mazda 6 previously. I loved them.

    Gas mileage question

Nice mileage is posititve but it does take the enjoy out of driving. I find myself obsessing trying to get the best possible mileage. I asked me wife how she was faring and she said "great, I'm getting over 10". I had to sensitively explain that the lower # of L/100 km, the better the...

    Gas mileage question

Decent fuel economy so far. Living in downtown Toronto I can easy average 8.0 to 9.0 L/100 km in urban driving. Suburban and highway mileage is in the 6.5 to 7.0 L/100 km range. This is much better than my previous 2004 4 cyl. Mazda 6. I love it so far.

Want a Manual Transmission? Hope you like Silver, Grey, and Black...

I purchased a zeal red mica GX w/convenience package. I was able to negotiate about $1,000 off the MSRP at Gyro Mazda in Toronto (it worked out to just under $29K with taxes and fees included). I love the 6 sp MT, but have noticed the issue with 4th gear not always shifting smoothly.

What did you pay for your CX-5?

Received my CX-5 GX FWD (6 sp manual) with convenience package on 3/26/2012. It took 2.5 weeks to arrive. I love it so far as it offers the best combination I was looking for - room for family, handling, fuel economy, excellent value. I was able to negotiate about $1,000 off the MSRP. Incl...
