You can install the Sirius and Nav antennas inside the rear spoiler on the hatch. I did this on my 3 and it worked perfectly and never cut out! Just pulled the spoiler off and pulled it apart and DS taped it inside with the top facing up. (The nav antenna will also work perfectly under the...
I was able to integrate an Alpine HU with the OEM camera. I have heard of people feeding it 12v and working fine. I found a 12v-6v converter transistor and wired it in. Then you just have video + & -. Works great on my 6 and should work the same for a CX-5.

They have a direct plug and play kit that we have used on several chryslers and has worked out perfectly. Plus it is only a plug....no adapter box so it should be available for about $200 or so with the camera.
6 1/2s all around. You will need to either destroy the factory speakers and use them for adapters or make your own. The fronts use an 8" or 10" adapter in the front and I used Toyota adapters in the rear.
If the hum in the speakers is coming from the same place it did in a CX-9 I installed an Alpine into with the Centerpoint Bose system, there is an adjustable gain that is turned to +5 from the factory and needs to be on -5. It's what is called gain hiss...too much gain. Here is the instruction...
Most cars if they have an actual heated windshield (similar to the rear with the element lines on the glass) they only heat where the wipers sit on the glass at the bottom. Otherwise, leave your front defroster on with heat on full blast when you get out. By the time your engine gets to temp...
Yes, there should be tweeters up there mounted in the 3 1/2 hole. All you have to do is get something flat and pop it up. If you are careful, you won't hurt anything.
If you are using HIDs in projector headlights like the newer Mazdas, you are just fine. It is when they are installed in regular headlights like a Chevy silverado that they become an issue to other drivers. Well that and the idiots that put 55w hid kits in their low beams. That makes me want...
I have a new 6 and my wife has a new Cx-5. We love them both but Che Cx-5 is definitely easier to get in and out of. The door openings on the new 6 seem smaller than on my old 2nd gen. The back doors are a little clumsy to get in and out of for an adult in the CX-5 but may be fine for kids...
Just like the title suggests, why is it there? My reason for this that last week my check engine light came on. My code reader said large vacuum leak...p0455 I think. I reset it and all was well until Saturday when it came back on. Same code. Car drivability was fine, mileage was fine...
I am not sure about the tech package HIDs. Not sure if a regular high/low kit works as normal or what. If you get bulbs in the right color range, matching the DRLs should be easy. This can be done without taking the bumper off, but since taking it off is so easy I did it so I could hide the...
I just don't believe in connecting a cheap piece of electronics into my cars electrical system without some sort of protection. Relay harnesses completely isolate the lighting from the car so I never have to worry about a warranty issue or anything. Also, a lot if people in town do plug and...
