Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

Updated photos after camber arms installed @eyeballs : I bought the car used with the tires looking totally worn on the inner tread with cupping. The outer tread looked brand new. MY guess is the original tires BEFORE the camber arm replacement had less than 8,000 miles on them. I have...

2012 Mazda5 Heated Seat Install (pics)

I didn't mention that in the writeup - and that is a key point. I did, in fact, disconnect the battery first. So this is an important reminder for any work on the electrical system and for that matter the airbags (steering wheel, curtains and side bags). I'm not too worried about the zip...

2012 Mazda5 Heated Seat Install (pics)

I decided to take a shot at adding a seat heater to the driver's seat after studying Vasy's most excellent video How-To. This video is a must see if you are even mildly interested in this project - especially as winter is upon us! I selected a single seat kit from Dorman on Amazon. It has...

Creaking around seat belt next to drivers side door on 2013 GT

It has something to do with the sliding doors. Our 2012 has creaks coming from both sides. I think seals and latch points are the two sources of the noise.

    CAN Bus on 2012 Mazda5?

I have installed LEDs on my 2012 Mazda - map lights and license plate lights are directional which is to say they are NOT on CANbus. Where CANbus may be a factor is in the speedometer lights.

    2012 M5S - OEM Head Unit Upgraded - meh...

I think even if you get the hardware installed correctly with all if the pertinent harnesses and buttons, you will hit the dealer wall. And that is that the onboard computer does not recognize the head unit you just installed. Mazda dealer would have enable the computer to talk to the new...

    CV joint

A torn boot is easy to spot. Look under the car and check both the boot at the wheel and the boot at the transaxle. Most likely it is the boot on the wheel side since this articulates the most from both steering and suspension movements. Half shaft assemblies usually mean the entire axle...

Rear Wheel Camber is Eating Tires

I just finished replacing my 2012 Mazda5's rear upper control arms with the SPC adjustable control arms. The camber on my car was crazy negative. This is what my tires looked like with the stock arms..... I ordered these arms from Amazon under the AC Delco label......they turned out to be...

    Mazda 5 parts help please

To test just how many parts interchange with Ford or Volvo, you can look up part selections on eBay or PartsTrain to see what part numbers pull for suspension parts. Then you can compare to what you see for your year mazda5 . Many do interchange with the Focus and the smaller Volvos as well as...

Switch-on reverse camera using Defros button..

That is a brilliant modification! I've been rummaging through the junkyards to find extra switches to mount in the dash for future accessories. But these will have to be wired up front to back when I figure out what I want to operate. I like the idea of using the existing hardware on the car...

2012 Mazda5 Sport - upgrading to better OEM head unit

Dash is a bit of a circus the first time you tear into it. Now that I've been in there twice, I have a better sense of what is going on.....although it is more complicated that my older Subaru and 1990s Japanese cars. It is not harder than a Mini dash though! Here is a link to instructions...
