The iPod adapter is treated like a CD changer. Press the CD button until you see EX on the display. Press it again and it reverts back to the CD. I think the adapter is the same for all Mazdas of similar years. Mine had Mazda 3 directions in it.

Pads last a long time, however rotors on mine tend to need surfaced frequently. Twice in 47,000 miles, but we do drive a lot in town and I think the spouse may "ride" them more than I want. Still a great car/van/you name it.

Make sure to compare prices with Mazda's extended plan before purchasing. When I bought my 2007, the dealer wanted to sell me a warranty from a 3rd party. I was burned on one of those previously, so I declined and asked about the Mazda plan. I was assured it would be much more expensive, however...

I think the vehicle is capable, but I am not Mazda. Towing is not recommended by Mazda and will void your warranty accordingly. Of course, the same vehicle in Europe has a 2000 lbs. tow capacity. If you are out of warranty, tow away.
