I'm taking a guess that you have the Clip+'s USB mode in Autodetect or MTP. I believe you have to go to the settings and set it to MSC, then recopy the files back onto the device (copy them off then back on from a computer). Haven't actually tested if you need to do the latter once you switch...

I ordered one two days ago but they shipped it out today. Also had roughly the same ship date quoted in my order... Edit: If you want to get it shipped faster, ask them if it's too late to cancel the order. A lot of times they will say that if the item is shipped they cannot do it. :D
