Any success with these aftermarket Smart Card / "credit card" remotes?

I appreciate your quick response. I have three programmed blade keys so I can always use those to enter/operate the car, but to be honest, my enjoyment of doing so will be diminished. I like the Smart Card remote and want to be able to use it again. So, the first order of business is to find...

Any success with these aftermarket Smart Card / "credit card" remotes?

2008 CX-9 GT. One of my two original remotes stopped transmitting. Battery is new, and LED lights up upon button push but nothing happens on the car. Dealer says he can't see that it's transmitting. There is so much conflicting information extant about purchasing replacement Smart Card...

    Thule Cargo box installed

Brave, considering the racks are "rated" at 100lbs. I know Mazda is being conservative to cover their rear end, but I'm not sure I'd double it!

    Defective Interior Metallic Door Handle

Same story here. I was absentmindedly rubbing my fingernail - lightly, mind you - along the handle while waiting at a traffic signal. I was horrified to find that I'd pulled paint off. My vehicle is only three months old. At this rate these handles will look horrible in no time.

    Winter Tires For 20' GT

Is AWD enough in the snow? Not by a long shot. Allow me to pontificate: I find the whole snow-tires-vs-AWD debate confusing. In snowy conditions AWD helps you accelerate without excessive slipping, but doesn't help you brake and only marginally helps you turn. These seem like important...

Anyone get a "dumb" key (spare for Smart Key)?

I had the dealer make me a spare emergency key (the pull-out key from the smart card), which I put in a magnetic box under my bumper. Note that even the emergency key is "chipped" (it has a transponder that must be programmed) which the dealer will charge you for. I think my dealer charged me...

Reverse/backup lights not bright enough. LED's?

I emailed two automotive LED vendors and asked them to give me their best shot from a brightness standpoint. Tracy from autolumination.com said, "I think I would go with the Eagle Eye Tower bulbs. (http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm) They have a 3 watt luxeon on the face of the bulb...

Reverse/backup lights not bright enough. LED's?

Seriously? Have you ever tried backing up at night without them? They most certainly do illuminate the area at night, but not well enough as they come from the factory - in my opinion. In think an upgrade is a wise move from a safety standpoint.

Reverse/backup lights not bright enough. LED's?

Njaremka, thanks for the quick response. Halogen bulbs? Are the stocks halogen, or are you referring to aftermarkets?

Reverse/backup lights not bright enough. LED's?

Does anyone else think that the stock reverse lights are insufficient? I'm hoping to find that I'm not alone here, and I'm really hoping that someone has successfully swapped out the bulbs for brighter LED's. Other threads center on turn signal replacement or interior lighting, so this really...

    Cargo Mat

New Cargo Liner from MacNeil Well, that thing is brand-spanking new! So much for MacNeil offering to email me as soon as this and the 2nd row/3rd row liners became available! I just spent $70 on the stinky Rubber Tite version from Auto Anything, and this one looks nicer. Should've waited...

Spare Key for Advanced Keyless Entry?

One way is to go to the dealer and have the metal key inside your Advanced Key copied. It's expensive because the key is "chipped", which means it has a transponder in it that must be programmed. I paid ~$70 for the key, but somehow convinced the dealer to program it for free (the car was...

    Everyone's exterior color choice

We originally wanted a silver car - reflects heat and doesn't show the dirt - but fell in love with the Copper Red/Send Leather combo. We haven't been sorry.

CX9 SportOwner, Thanks for the description. I have to say: just brilliant. I'll let you know how mine turn out.

    CX-9 roof rack (OEM)

Terry, I suggest you bring the tow eye with you to the hardware store. It's under the trap door in the cargo area. Just find a nut that fits and then match the threads.
