    Best Protege Engine Mounts?

I have a random question about motor mounts. I have, after previously trying inserts and not liking even that amount of vibration, decided to replace my worn mounts with new stock mounts. However, when I got the mounts the rear mount appeared to be rotated. The rubber is rotated within the...

What have you done to your protege today, 99-00's only

Today I drove my Protege for the first time since I got the thermostat clearance issue all resolved. The car is once again operable and I took it for a spin around the block. Only one problem. I had her sitting outside for the night after having installed everything and filling up the coolant...

OFFICIAL: AWR Header Group Buy!!! This GB is a ONE TIME DEAL!!!

I got the O2 sensor out, it was stuck and required some force, but that wasn't the problem. The issue was that the wrench broke well before it should have. As for the hose.. As I said it is making contact at the water outlet/thermostat housing cover where the hose attaches. Therefore it...

I agree that it shouldnt. However, it does. I am not sure what you think I should recheck on the install... If you can give me some specific recommendations that would be appreciated. The header lines up with everything perfectly. Every fastener on the block is seated and torqued proper...

Yes, well using a breaker bar on something like an O2 sensor that is stuck can have a tendency to give someone a broken O2 sensor. I would rather know that I am not putting a retarded amount of torque on the device. And there is a reason they make bidirectional torque wrenches, and it isnt...

So I guess my only plan of action is to try and get a water outlet/thermostat housing that is shorter and/or angled away from the header. I am not sure if AWR can do it, but the email sort of suggested they could. I am still waiting on a response. I pulled it off to see if I could possibly...

So I installed my header today and it is contacting my lower radiator hose. It is actually where the hose connects with the block so I cant even try and move the hose out of the way since it is at the point that it sleeves over the metal portion. Anyone else have this issue or know a way to...

Was going to install mine tonight but I broke my torque wrench when trying to get the rear O2 sensor out. The front came out fine, but the rear was apparently a bit more stubborn and the head of the ratchet anvil shattered. Piece of crap wasnt even anywhere near its max range either. Oh, well...

What have you done to your protege today, 99-00's only

I pulled out my leaking radiator to install a CS one, only to find out that I need to get a ATF cooler since the CS one doesnt have that built in. I am also replacing the exhaust header with an AWR header while I am doing the radiator. Broke my "torque" wrench trying to get the rear O2 sensor...

    Corksport Radiator install question

Does anybody know where a decent ATF cooler can be found for a 2000 protege to go along with the CS radiator. Also you may want to put a note about that on your site, unless I just missed it. I found out today, when I went to do that install, that I need to find a transmission cooler. So...

So are you telling me that you think it does absolutely nothing to adjust my fuel/air curves, or that there was a better option? Other than a Haltech standalone, that I do plan to get many years down the line when I am ready to move away from NA. What I would say was a waste was the motor...

OFFICIAL: AWR Header Group Buy!!! This GB is a ONE TIME DEAL!!!

I just joined this forum. I have had my 2000 Protege since it was new with 8 miles on it and recently started to upgrade a lot of the car. I came across the AWR headers on the AWR site and am interested in ordering them, but I haven't had a reponse from the site. By the sound of this thread...
