I agree with the others that you should definitely NOT pay full-price for this car. If your salesman isn't helpful, find the general manager to speak with. If he's also a douche, then walk out. Let them know then that you'll be contacting Mazda North America to complain about your experience...

Same with me, I also was having difficulty at first to get the hatch to latch without slamming it. Now, I'm having no issues closing it...and the good thing is I'm not slamming it anymore :)

robertmazda, just curious..which dealer did you go to? I went to mine (Performance) last week and they had about 8 or 9 CX-5s on their lot (2 GTs, the rest Tourings).

Just put 2,000 more miles on my CX-5 on a road trip to Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi...so now I'm almost at 3,000 on the odo. Averaged around 29-30 MPG on the highway, though I confess I was also averaging 75 MPH for most of the trip.

Just came back from a road trip to Arkansas. The CX-5 held up very well and proved to be a worthy road trip vehicle. Of course, I had to snap some pics: Where's Waldo...er, the CX-5?

I've had my CX-5 for almost 2 weeks, and about to hit 1,000 miles (wow) But then I did take delivery with 400 miles already on the odo (due to a dealer swap)

I got Metro Gray. Sky Blue was my first preference, but the more I looked at the Gray the more I liked it. My dealer also had a Stormy Blue, and I felt the Sand interior really doesn't go well with it.

Great review Katmar! After reading your comments on AWD, I'm now having a little remorse in buying the FWD version. I too have to agree about the lights. So far they have been hit and miss coming on, especially when I am in my office parking garage. Though I'm thinking the cloud cover...

Mike786 - Got mine from Performance Mazda. Exeon - Sounds like a great deal there! Should note that Mazda is running a 0.9% for 36 months finance special, which I think is a national promotion. If you are willing to go with the higher payments, that should hopefully sway you on board.

Already seen a few here in the Houston area. From recent memory: 1) I've seen a Liquid Silver CX-5 sometimes parked in my apartment garage, though it's not been there every day 2) Saw two other CX-5s parked in the Galleria garage last weekend I was in the Washington, DC area a few weekends...

My dealer (in Texas) did tell me that all its CX-5s came through the port of San Diego, so I'm guessing its the same for cars destined for SoCal (assuming you're in LA or OC).

I spoke with two dealers last week when purchasing my CX-5, and both of them had just received similar vehicles with around 4500-6500 miles on them. They were both GT with Tech Packages, and had just about every OEM accessory installed (from remote start to rubber floor mats to splash guards)...
