The CMU part number the dealer gave my was KB7W669CO-K but the unit I purchased from a 2019 model was a KN3L669CO (K2352). My best guess is that they changed the part number to indicate the date of manufacture but they are identical parts.

Simply deleting Mazda from Bluetooth settings on phone and letting phone find new Mazda allowed Bluetooth to work. Apple CarPlay works fine with my iPhone. Seems there is no discernible difference between model year parts. Hope this helps other people.

My wife just texted that Bluetooth isn’t working with her android phone. I may have celebrated too soon. I’ll try to reboot system when she gets home. Hopefully that will reset it.

I bought the part for $65. It was listed as a Bluetooth radio. There is a sticker on the back with the Bluetooth frequency. That’s probably why it was sold by salvage yard as a Bluetooth radio. Saved over $1000.

I installed the 2019 CMU into my 2017 and installed the new cables at the same time. Everything works fine. Only snafu was the language was all in French and metric because I bought the part from Quebec. Easy fix. It already had the 700 software update so I didn’t even need to update the software.

I managed to brick the CMU on my wife’s 2017 CX-5 grand touring (tried to upgrade the firmware on my own). The dealership wants $1200 to replace the CMU. I’m shopping around online trying to find a unit from a salvaged car. I’m not having much luck using the term CMU. The few units I have found...

Looks great. I didn't think I would like it based on the description, but I loved it when I saw the pics. I asked someone why Mazda didn't offer a panoramic sunroof and the simple answer was it adds too much weight.

I picked up side rails from my dealer and installed them yesterday. 2017 CX-5 GT. Very simple install. Way easier than last generation. Took about 20 minutes to do both rails. I'm over 6'2" and that did help. Instructions are in the box. They are not great but it's still pretty easy to figure...
