    waht happened to protegeclub.com?

I believe the owner of protegeclub.com is the owner of rx7club.com and rx8club.com. He hardly pays any attention to ProtegeClub, and it goes down a lot. I bet it'll be back up next week.

    2004 P5's

Some website started the rumor that it was delayed until 2005, but that apears to be completely false. As people here have already said, December 2003 is the planned release.

what the hell is mazda thinking??

Calm down, it's not real. It's a photoshop done by some enthusiasts of what it MAY look like. That was up on Miata.net months ago.

    you be the judge

The only people I've heard of who don't like the 3 are current P5 owners. Everyone else I've heard from thinks it looks great. Hmmm...

    Question on Mobil 1 oil....

The "Higher Mileage Vehicle" formula was just a marketing ploy by Mobil1. They've since changed it to "Multi-Vehicle" formula because of all the confusion it caused. There's no difference whatsoever. They also call the 5W-30 "Newer Vehicle" Formula, but again, it's just marketing.

    Pictures of my 03.5

Looks beautiful, especially the wheels. However...the dealer sticker needs to go. I hate dealerships that do that, you'd think they'd at least try to put it on straight. Sorry to rant, that's just a big pet peeve of mine.

    Build Location??

Guys, the engine has nothing to do with Ford. Completely a Japanese Mazda design.

Preview Article from The Car Connection

They said "possibly to follow". Personally, I think they're just guessing. I'm not expecting anything more than a sedan and a 5-door hatch.

    Whoa....Another "special edition" Protege?

I don't think Motor Trend knows what they're talking about. Every year I read their "New Cars" issue, and it's loaded with mistakes. Anyway, I think when they said "A special edition replacing the former Speed Protege and MP3", they were just referring to the Mazdaspeed Pro. I know it said...

I'm hearing rumors that the P5 will be..

Really? I've never heard this, altough I'd LOVE to see it! It would certainly complicate things, since Mazda and Ford already share Engines and Platforms. As far as the Mazda3 being cheapened because of Ford, I'm not that worried about it. On the contrary, I think the Focus will benefit...

How many miles can you get on 1 tank?

My last tank I got 24mpg, which I thought was bad enough. I recently went back to school (I go to UCF in Orlando), and 90% of my driving is through horrible campus traffic. After half a tank, I've only logged 106 miles on the trip meter! I'm going on a 200 mile trip this weekend so I'll see...

    Mazda & Ford

gmgdn45, our cars use the FS-DE engine. The FS-ZE engine, as the post on the MX-6 forum said, is a J-spec engine. HS8, the Mazda 3 comes out in 2004. It will ride on a platform shared with Ford, but it will still be built in Japan. Here's an article about the new Duratec engines that will be...

    Bypass Valve Fitment?

It would be easy to add it to either side of the MAF sensor, if it weren't for that lip. Unfortunately, both pipes have it. I'm going to cut the lip off before the MAF sensor and put the valve there. The AEM instructions tell you not to put it behind a MAF sensor.

    Bypass Valve Fitment?

I just got an e-mail back from injen, they told me they added the lip to all their new intakes to help prevent the sleeve from slipping off. If I want to use the bypass vavle, it looks like I will have to cut the lip off. Oh well, I was hopinng I wouuldn't have to cut.

    Bypass Valve Fitment?

YES! That's exactly what I was thinking. I had a hell of a time getting the sleeve on myself. Does anyone else have this lip on their pipe, or am I the only one?? I might have to contact Injen and ask them what's up.
