frank, There isnt a resistor or anything inline. You can cut the wires and use a new clip purchased from NAPA. (Might not be the same clip but it will work) If you need any help gimme a call. EDIT: I wouldnt run the car. The clip has most likely caused a short and that may damage the ECU.
