2008 transmission fluid and transfer case

I'd like to think that it is shifting better now. I hear these occasional rattles when the engine is cold and I accelerate. Not really sure what that is. It tends to go away. I'm not sure what to do about as it's hard replicate.

2008 transmission fluid and transfer case

Yeah, no replacing tranny filter. Not really sure how I would do that. I thought that the filter would require some more significant work to get it out. So, I just did a drain and fill.

2008 transmission fluid and transfer case

The transmission fluid was pretty black when it got drained out. As I wrote, I will probably drain and fill again in a couple weeks. It's hard to find the appropriate oil in my area. The local stores don't carry it. So, I just bought this off of Amazon. What kind of synthetic transmission...

2008 transmission fluid and transfer case

Hey everyone, I got 72k miles on my Cx-9 sport. I'm the original owner. I never had the transmission fluid drained and filled. Nor have I ever had the transfer case fluid done. For the most part, I haven't really noted any issues at all. Again, I was just following the maintenance schedule...

    2016 CX9 Owners Thread

Can anyone post the length of the cargo space with the third row folded down from the back of the second seat to the latch? Also, the width between the wheel wells. My 2008 CX9 was about 48" deep and about 46" wide. I'm trying to determine if the loss of cargo volume is going to be a problem...

    Brake and rotor change

I got them off Amazon. They were the Akebono ProAct pads. Based on my experience, I can't really recommend then. But, then again, I'm no mechanic. These forums are rather empowering. Everyone's write ups are so helpful. But at the same time, I do feel like a toddler holding a gun. I know...

    Brake and rotor change

Here's my update - I had some squeaking from the front passenger wheel. So, I should have just played around with the pads and hardware. Anyway, brought it to the dealer, and they said that the hardware was rubbing on the rotor causing the squeal. So, they changed them out for mazda oem pads...

    Wheel bearings replaced

well, it wasn't my wheel bearings. It was just me not being good at doing a brake job. I think some of the hardware was rubbing against the rotor. Good luck to you all who need bearings done...

    Wheel bearings replaced

Thanks. We've got an 08, bought in Jan '09 with about 24k miles on it. We don't drive it much, and it's kind of annoying to be hearing this issue already. I'll keep everyone up to date as I learn more.

    Wheel bearings replaced

I am worried about my front right bearing, too. Lately, when I make a rightward turn - going > 10 mph, I hear what sounds like metal on metal from the wheel. Yesterday, I lifting up that right side with a jack, and there seemed to be some left to right play in the wheel. No up and down play...

    Brake and rotor change

Akebono says to just do "moderate driving" for 500 miles as a break in period. I'm not sure if Centric has another thought. But, so far, we've been just driving moderately. Braking feels a bit different. Maybe softer to some extent, but there still seems to be good grip.
