the turbosmart is a 50/50 or u can run it 60/40, if you go full vta yeah you may have problems without a tune, just run it 50/50 and ull be fine

Id go with the coils I had the egr code took it off and cleaned it that 0401 comes back ever now and then but i dont see it having that much of a effect so start with the coils and plugs
