I've had both engine issues & fuel pump issues. I'm using 10w40 Castrol GTX on my current engine. The oem fuel pump had quit being useful twice for me. It never left me stranded, it just over heated and I couldn't make good headway. If the pump does start to go bad, switch over to the BHR unit...

Looking at the Mazdaspeed section of Mazdausa.com, you come up with very few parts that are available for the 09+model of the RX8. It's basically just brake pads and a few interior pieces. To get any performance parts, your going to have to go elsewhere.

The $600 is about typical if you have the dealer do the work. Your price is for a DIY.

I believe the OP posted this question up on RX8Club and found the Cat to be bad.

The RX8 has 70 HP over the the best of the N.A. RX7's (FC) and is only 15 HP less than a stock FD. There are other companies than make faster cars, but isn't that always the case?
